The activations sessions of 20-30 minutes each can be as many as 6 to 8 sessions (totalling 3 to 4 hours) the first couple of books. This is normal if it take you 10 to 12 hours to understand the book normally. Considering your mind wonders this would be even more likely in your case. Do some more activation sessions. The tape only does one and suggest you 'do more' as you need.
For your wondering mind. Get into the proper state, apply the tangerine method during your activation sessions and set a time limit with a watch or clock. Spend 20 minute on an activation session no more and no less. This short time frame will help your mind to focus.
Ask Questions, look at your trigger words and ask questions about them. That way you can superread looking out for answers. When you see something that looks like an answer to your question... dip, have a closer look, if it doesn't answer a question leave it quickly and go back to superreading.
You may have to spend an hour a day for 3 days to get a good mind map out of a book. This is because you let your mind wander. When you stop your mind from wandering you'll be able to do it in less time. You train it by setting time limits and sticking to them. If you say to yourself you are going to spend 30 minutes with a book then spend 30 minutes not more.
