Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer Speed reading

Just ordered my the home study photoreading course and it should be coming any day now. I'm psyched about learning to get through novels and textbooks (and many other things) much faster, but am just wondering about what to do on shorter pieces. When i read short pieces for class, maybe short stories or something under 50 pages, i am obviously not going to photoreading this material. I was wondering if someone could give me a link, or some way to contact a succeseful speed-reading program. I am not looking to spend that much time on the program, and would be extremely happy if i could boost my normal reading speed to maybe 500 WPM or so, (i read comftorably at about 250 now ). Anyway, thanks again!

Nothin' wrong with PRing a book under 50 pages. Heck if something is FOUR pages I'll PR it.

I don't bother PRing e-mails or little magazine articles that take up half a page. But 50 pages? Definately.

Well it just keeps getting better .

Also photoreading tends to increase your reading speed so you'll often find yourself flying through reading material anyway.

If it is worthwhile PRing a 4 page text, then i'm figuring that it is not a necessity to wait 20 minutes before activation. Also, in class we are sometimes instructed to read maybe a 10-15 page essay. I was just wondering if it would be feasible to PR these while surrounded by others. Would the environment be to distracting? Or would it depend on the person, if the individual could get relaxed while in a group. Anyway, thanks for your responses .

I wish you luck in your endeavors as you learn the PR course. I've found that even my regular reading speed has increased as well. I don't always PR reading materials. Some of the steps you find in your PR personal learning course will resemble conventional speed reading techniques but then it's only part of the whole. I think you'll be impressed. I hope to hear of your success here on the boards.

Ah, yes. After you get the hang of photoreading, you no longer have to let it incubate for 20 minutes; you can go straight to activating.

But when you start out, it's better to let it incubate overnight. After you get decent at it, drop down to the minimum 20 minutes, and after you have the system completely down, you can get rid of the incubation period altogether.

So you're right for now; at first, PRing 4 pages isn't worth it. After you get better, it's perfectly fine (kinda odd isn't it, that you have to get better at 250 pages before you can do 4 ).
