I realized now that the way I learned to read back in preschool had me subvocalizing every word, so I could understand "written intonation" or something like that. I still read that way, and need some pointers on how to shake the nasty habit. I've been PRing for about 2 weeks, and my normal reading speed has increased SLIGHTLY (my comprehension is through the roof :-D).
But, when I skim through to activate, I realized I'm subvocalizing really really fast and it gets all garbled sometimes.

Anyone got any pointers?

Try playing a nature sound tape or CD that reportedly helps reduce subvocalisation. If you haven't got nature sounds try Mozart. You find that you subvocalise less and less as you progress with the process so just keep going. As your speed increases subvocalising will reduce.

So keep pushing your pace with superreading and dipping... you'll find you don't have time to subvocalise and what you... doesn't matter you're getting your reading and comprehension down a lot faster that many others

Sounds good. I happen to have a Mozart CD I listen to at night before big tests, it helps me concentrate the next day. Sounds like it'll work, thanks!

The article's a bit long, but for the technique scroll down to the heading 'Meaning?'

Good Luck
