Something that still annoys me alittle when I listen to the tapes is Paul's abuse of the word feel. I understand that he uses it to give us an embedded command which is a typical practice for NLP trainers. But I think he could try and use some other word sometimes. it really is annoying when he says in one sentence 'you feel a greater feeling than you have felt...', or when giving instructions to wake up he says that word in every sentence. Sometimes I have to make a conscious effort to ignore this, but sometimes I just feel the feeling of wakening from the trance. Can you feel it?

I'll ask Paul what he feels about it when he returns to town.

The criticism of BAD language usage is clearly understood...blame it on my need for remaining sensory specific at times, and sensory nonspecific at other times.

For example, you'll occasionally hear the phrase "That's right" which remains one of the most ridiculous things for anyone to say to a listener of a recording. AND it works beautifully to enhance or amplify state.

Another example, "You take a special delight in knowing certain things that you know." Hmmm. How's that for odd. AND it works.

Believe me, if you fixate on a single idea, word, syntactical idiosyncracy, or behavioral idiosyncracy and amplify it, you can make yourself irritated by virtually any person, place, or thing in the world...constantly.

On the other hand, if you want peace wherever you go, realize that you are the master of your experience.

A friend of mine was driven to distraction by people chewing food. Try noticing it for one weekend. He was able to get me totally repulsed in any social setting. Really, it can be awful!

He concluded that the distracting idiosyncracy of choice for him was related to a parent who abused him in other ways. In other words, we don't have to go far to consider why things in our world bother us. The question remains, can you find peace inside while in the presence of ANYthing outside. Because the world will be the way it is, as will the recordings.

My objective is to provide a template for your state; visual, auditory, and feeling. It may be the feeling of peace you seek most. Maybe not. Play with your perceptions by inviting a new response to the word. For example, "During this recording, I will hear derivatives of the word "feel" approximately (897) times. Each time it is spoken, my state will become more profoundly peaceful and my body/mind more fully connected to the skills that will achieve it in any future circumstance I choose."
