Surely by now you have encountered a minority of intelligent, well-intended people who--despite their efforts and good intentions--do not respond well to the tapes. I have been one of that minority. Although I have studied change technologies for more than thirty years (and even use these to help others in my work), I have almost never succeeded in applying any of them to myself.

To say that this is frustrating would be to grossly understate the case. I have also found that most change technology teachers [thank you, Pete, for being an exception to this!] have been very uncomfortable with this, and have seemed to be more interested in shutting me up (or somehow blaming me) than in helping, when I have sincerely stated my difficulty with applying the techniques.

Perhaps early conditioning is at the root of this pattern (see my posts under "help for resistant subconscious" for more details), but the fact is that (along with everything from affirmations and visualization to meditation, etc.) I have studied some of the (supposedly) most powerful and rapid NLP change techniques, and have so far had ZERO success in applying them to myself. It is as though the whole idea of changing MYSELF sets off some sort of short-circuit, and some part of me ensures that it CANNOT work.

That is why I bought paraliminal tapes in the first place--to get more of the experience of "someone else" facilitating the change process. Guess what--these don't work for me either, if I approach the process with the attitude of "fixing," "reprogramming" or otherwise manipulating or coercing myself to change.

I have long suspected that this attitude/approach was my problem (please read my posts asking for "help w/resistant subconscious") but I only very recently had a breakthrough in this area.

Some element of inner integrity appears to be violated when my attitude/approach is that of "correcting" a "faulty" inner self (or behavior pattern)--and that inner element apparently pushes BACK against such arrogant and ignorant attempts at coercion.

I am now finding that if I focus on Paul's positive statements about how helpful, resourceful and benevolent my inner self is, I seem to be starting to get results--but if I start trying to set goals or make an effort to visualize desired outcomes (as is directed in New Behavior Generator and Get Around To It)--once again nothing works.

I would welcome your comments and suggestions on this. For those who CAN use conventional motivational strategies (such as goal-setting and other techniques), my opinion is that almost anything will work (although some things work better than others, of course).

For those of us who have a significant degree of psychological reversal (one way of expressing the phenomenon of motivational paradox which occurs in--I believe--a significant percentage of the population), almost NO (self-administered) approach seems to work--at least until the underlying motivational difficulty is recognized and addressed. [And no--NLP techniques aimed at "reprogramming" my motivational strategy did not work either.]

By the way, I have sincerely looked into the possible psychological payoffs of being "an exception" and am satisfied that the roots of this "motivational disability" lie elsewhere.

My hope is that, rather than overlooking those of us who do not respond in a typical fashion, some of the leaders in change technology will make the effort to discover why this is the case--and perhaps come up with new strategies to address this. Would you care to address the needs of those of us who are (at least initially--perhaps this is correctable) "differently motivated?"

Thank you, in advance, for your consideration.

Hi Shinsei

It sounds as though you need trauma release, by deep delta meditation. Have you tried the Centerpointe Holosync technology? Holosync is powerful. If you can, ask Brian649 if he can suggest a cheaper way of trauma release using a light/sound machine, and some frequencies that would work as well as the Centerpointe technology to release old "stuff" that is stopping optimum functioning. Brian649 on this forum says in FEEL THE POWER! - part 5 that "1.5hz releases the hold of trauma".
Read some of the material at http://www.centerpointe.com/ if you haven't already.

I don't mean to over simplify your problems.
Kind regards,
Grant.

Thank you, Grant. Rather than oversimplifying, you have perhaps cut to the heart of the problem--i.e. significant trauma. I would love to believe that those horrific experiences can be brushed aside, overridden, bypassed or transcended--and have searched high and low for techniques which would accomplish this--but perhaps some form of "trauma release" is necessary.

I was discouraged to see how long (they talk in terms of months and years) Centerpointe technology might take to make significant change, but let's face it: I've been looking for instant results for over 30 years.

I do wish there were a less expensive alternative. And it does seem rather daunting, if not downright suspicious, that CP doles their program out in 12 (expensive) "levels." Reminds me of so many other technologies I have looked at, where you pay and pay and pay to get the "full benefits." But I am looking for results...

Perhaps Brian649 will, as you said, have some less expensive solutions. I will ask.

Anyway, thank you again for taking the time to read and respond. I will be interested to see what other responses I receive, as well.

Best regards.

I am an Inner Circle member of Centerpointe which means I have bought all 12 levels. I have to say it is well worth the money and I would pay more for the program. Not only are you buying the program, but you are also buying the support of a terrific group of people. I can not begin to explain what the program means to me and to my life. Also, the Centerpointe staff have become part of my family. If you are really interested in having more Peace, Joy, Happiness in your life, then don't let the money stop you.

Hi Shinsei

Thanks very much to Brian649, here's a solution. I asked him:

Do you know how I can get the trauma releasing benefits from light/sound without paying ... for all levels of Holosync?

Brian:"This is a first-class question. I absolutely know how you can. You'll have to either pay the 40 US bucks or find a crack (astalavista.com) for the bwgen. There are two presets that are right up your alley.

One is 'Trauma Release' by Zamolxe which is nice and simple. He's got filtered pink noise (with high and low frequencies taken out in order to lessen 'the edge'.) And a simple 1.5hz binaural beat at 100hz. Very simple, very effective.

The other is 'Personal Growth Meditation' by Wim Kijne. This more directly mirrors holo-sync. One binaural beat takes you down from waking to deep delta, and another remains at deep delta. Granted, it doesn't use the fancy formations and ingenius tricks--but hey...it's free! You could further pipe this through an audiostrobe mind machine like the Orion or Proteus and add in Light entrainment--a one-up on the holo-sync.

The best thing in the world though, is that you can spend 10 seconds changing both the carrier frequency and the delta beat (as you adjust to lower and lower frequ/beats) INSTEAD of using an entirely different CD. (The ultra-simple directions for this are in the preset--no trouble whatsoever.)"

If you didn't find this post at feel the power - part 5. There it is.

I'm also going to try it.
Thanks to Brian649.

Kind Regards,
Grant.

I'd play with the New Option Generator and/or Belief tapes, because chances are you are not wired that differently from others.

==

You said you noticed some results, but when you apply a goal you get no results. It is not an either/or. There are many steps in between. Since you experience something, take it one step at a time to experience more. Go for smaller, almost shoe-in goals. Achieve those and increase the size.

It has taken you 30 years to become the person you are. Do not expect instant results over night. Give yourself time. Be patience. Cut yourself some slack.

What a great forum! Thank you all for your helpful responses.

Grant: Halleluia! At LAST, an effective technology that I can afford! All I will need is a pair of headphones and $40 (which I can save up in the next few weeks) for the BWGEN software, and I'll be good to go. THAT is an attainable objective for me.

I have been teaching myself computer skills (web design and graphics editing so far) as I go; looks like sound mixing and editing is next on the menu. [BTW: the computer was a gift.] A thousand thanks to you and Brian!

Claire: Thank you for your input. I think that, based on what I have read in Grant's and Brian's posts, a sufficiently resourceful person can, indeed, gain all the benefits you mentioned at a tiny fraction of Centerpointe's cost. Most people are NOT willing and/or able to go to the effort of downloading and mixing their own psychological "medicine" (I am), so Centerpointe is in no financial danger from those few of us who ARE willing and able to do so.

I also thank you for your good intentions. A little perspective I would like to share with you, though: Some of us are NOT able to cough up hundreds (or, in the case of all the CP levels, thousands) of dollars for ANY technology, regardless how wonderful or effective it may be. When you said "don't let the money stop you," it seemed to indicate that you were unaware of this.

The money HAS stopped me. Specifically, in the past few years it has stopped me from participation in the following (technologies which appeared promising):

1) Technologies for Creating training

2) Vivation certification training

3) Avatar training

4) NLP Practitioner training

5) The Sedona Method training

6) The Release Technique training

7) AND many of LSC's promising programs.

--all of which I investigated thoroughly, believed in completely, and found to be utterly beyond my financial reach.

You see, when it is a weekly struggle to keep the rent paid on the tiny apartment you share with your child and pets, and to feed said occupants, etc. then an expensive technology which purports to "fix" the income-producing problem might as well be offered in the next galaxy for all the good it can do.

It's the cruelest and most frustrating sort of "Catch-22": you need an effective technology to un-cripple yourself sufficiently to produce enough income so that you can afford the technology!!!

Please count your blessings that this has, apparently, never been part of your experience. And thank you again for your well-meaning input. Your testimonial to the effectiveness of binaural technology has indeed encouraged me to continue investigating along those lines.

Pete: More later. I am in the middle of moving--as well as in the end-of-month "rush"--so will give more feedback on tape use/results in a few days. Thanks for the input!

Namaste/gassho/blessings and thanks to all!

I understand and wish you all the best. The book The Power of Now by Eckert Tolle may also help you in your journey.

Claire: Thank you for the recommendation! I recently saw that title somewhere and was intrigued by it. I will order it through interlibrary loan.

Hi Shinsei,

I once knew a man who had similar problems then you say you have.

By chance, you are not P. Sh. from NZ?

Cheers

TM
