Hi Shinsei

When you do download the BWGEN, I think 1.5hz as a brain wave frequency and 100Hz as a carrier frequency is too low at first. I got quite a shock when I felt terrible the next day.

Delta ranges between 3.9 Hz and 0.1Hz, try higher nearer 3.9, 1.5 might be too low. It's probably mainly the carrier frequency that has the effect of increasing the cathartic release of trauma though, the lower it is the greater the overwhelm.

Try at 2Hz with 200Hz Carrier Frequency and drop down from there or go up from 1.5 at 100Hz but expect to feel overwhelmed by feelings at first until you find the right balance of freedom and overwhelm.

I don't know what Brian has to say about this?

Kind Regards,
Grant.

Sure! Start high and go down at your own pace in both carrier freq and brain freq.

Absolutely.

(My personal tendency is to throw discretion to the four winds and go for the goods in all things.)

Move the carrier frequency down in 5hz increments and move the brain freq down in a similar manner--as you adjust.

Further, I know when you're just starting out, it's a good idea to just go 30 minutes. Then, once you can handle that, go for the full hour.

Or... you can just jump right in!!!

Thanks, guys! I appreciate the warning. Considering all that I have on my plate right now, I need to maintain at least my current level of mood and functioning; this is NOT the time to "let all hell break loose."

[Brian, you have so much energy and resiliency that I doubt you have significant trauma to process. Great! By all means, "go for the goods" to the extent that you can. I appreciate your knowledgeable and energetic input, and hope that you will keep posting your breakthroughs/discoveries as you make them.]

A couple of questions: How will I know that I am in the optimum range (hz of both the pulse and carrier frequency)? It sounds as though the process should stir up SOME strong feelings (when?--immediately, or over the next few hours, or...) without being overwhelming. And how will I know when it is safe to lower the hz of pulse and/or the carrier frequency? Will it just seem that it having less effect, i.e. that I am getting "too comfortable?"

Also, are there some other "mixes" (perhaps available in the unregistered version for now) that will help me to feel "up" and more capable of constructive action? It seems I could devote a session or two to trauma release, and also have at least one session that is an "upper" each day.

I have already downloaded BWGEN, and am now just wondering what special headphones are necessary (I assume the ones that plug into my walkman won't work), and (newbie alert!) which jack on the computer they should be plugged into.

Thank you so much for all the great info! I am looking forward to learning about sound mixing and brainwave entrainment technologies. Stand by for updates and, most likely, more questions!

Hi Shinsei

An answer to your question about how will you know when you've got the carrier frequency and pulse right.

Here's a plan...
Go from 200Hz to 100Hz as carrier frequency, 1.5hz as pulse. Step down by 5Hz(carrier frequency) every second day. The day you feel too much(that's what you discern you're feeling - by your measure, no one elses), stop using bwgen for a day. The next two days after that go back up 10Hz.. then down 5hz for the two days after that, test if you can sustain it at that level or go up again in 2hz... until you're pushing yourself as much as you feel you can. Sustain it at that level for a few months. Then drop until you can sustain again.

It's a long process, it can take a couple of years, but know by the time that time comes you'll be walking on air and a long time before that you'll feel like it can't get better.

I don't know the answer to the headphone hertz question?

Plug the headphones into the speaker socket.

Kind Regards.
