I got the Mind Mapping book and I am (regular) reading it. I am really pleasantly surprised. The research certainly corroborates what is said in the photoreading book. And, I found myself spontaneously doing mind maps even though I'm not yet finished with the book. I can see that this will be a good way to learn.

I do have a question. Does the idea of mind mapping a book prior to PRing make any sense. Here's what I mean. You preveiw the book, then do a mind map, then PR?

I don't see what's wrong with it, but I think that it's probably more useful as a postview. Personally, I tend to combine my postview periods with my first activation period. This involves a mind-map of the contents as the material I photoread tends to be technical. I would imagine that this is more effective because you've got the material into your subconscious after the photoreading step, and so it should probably do more good then.

Just my two cents.

If you like MMing, then check out Nancy Margulies as well as Joyce Wycoff. They are very different & add great aspects to the possibilities of MMing.

The fact that you think to do some MMing prior to PhRing is terrific. Your neural connections will be even greater when you PhR. It'll probably come together faster for you when you activate it too.

Try this and tell me if it works for you, please.

Begin your mind map during your preview, instead of using linear note-taking. Begin your "branches" as a basic outline and superficial representation of the book, somehow incorporating your trigger words.

After you PR a book, begin adding branches after each Activation pass through the material, adding more detail with each session. Sort of a "building towards comprehension" type of theme.

Once again, please let me know if it works for you.

I will try it. So far, I'm really impressed with mind mapping.
