i know this may be a strange topic but i'm interested to know what are the frontiers or limits of PR.

what is the fastest PR speed achieved so far? is it possible to PR too fast?

what is the maximum sustainable number of books PRed daily, let's say, for a month? i've scanned the forum and some posts suggested PRing 15 books daily, which sums up to about 7000 books in a year. this truely rocks......

I've PRed 40 books in one day and had some spontaneous activation with 2 of them

as my previous post, i'm wondering, what is the fastest a person can PR? taking the low limit of 25000 wpm and a normal book of 300 words per page... this means 600 words per scan or per snap (2 pages). meaning 42 flips per minute. normal Walt Disney animations runs at 30 frames per second (I think) and we see it as continuous, working out to 1.08 million wpm. although this is impossible to achieve in physical PRing as we cannot flip 1800 times per minute, but it might be possible with a computer. hence, does it make any sense to put 1,080,000 wpm as the upper limits for PR?

AlexK, how does it feels to PR 40 books daily? how much time you spend doing so?

Just a few more facts to confuse your calculations.

Movie (film) run at 24 fps and appear flicker free.

There is some issue with epileptics and 40 Hz strobes.

Some people complain about monitor flicker if the refresh rate is under 70 Hz.

As for 30 Hz (interlace) TV versus 70 Hz computer monitors. There are two issues. One is the interlacing, and the other is the phosphor decay rate. Scan line interlacing is a cheat to try and get an effective 60 Hz image. Also, some phosphor grow dim faster (decay rate) than others.

There is also a electron flooding techniques that helps maintain the phosphor life, but reduces the screen contrast. I don't believe anything built today uses it anymore... ooops I started rambling.

Although there are those of us who notice flicker at rates above 100 Hz as well. I'm forced to use an LCD monitor (or is that LED? in my sleep deprived state, the connections aren't quite there) as a result.

Wait a sec, does this mean that, when I've reach a mastery point with PRing that I'll be able to PR at, well, even faster speeds than page turning? So this might actually be a good thing? In an odd sort of way?

It 'feels' pretty cool to PR 40 books I use this method to search which book/s I want to activate I PR about 10 books similar topic take a short break an continue. Takes about an hour. I don't do it every day... I'm more likely to go through 20 or 30 web pages a day computer crashes permitting. I PR them much faster. 600,000++ has been done Not by me though.
