Hi Everyone,

Sorry if this thing's been beaten to death already, but I'm new here and I was looking at a bunch of the earlier posts of recording only the "meat" of a paraliminal and making your own CDs (or mp3s). Afterwards, you would loop your new lean and mean paraliminal for an extended amount of time, hopefully getting better results.

Well, the thought intrigued me and I just finished my first recording session. I used the Memory Supercharger and I'm really excited about it. I think this method has a lot of potential.

Many others have also made their own paraliminal using Personal Genius. Well, I just recently ordered it and I'm planning on "skinning" that one too.

Has anyone tried this with other parliminals? I have quite a few of them but I'm not so sure if it would be a good idea or even worthwhile. For example, in Prosperity, the directions state that you should:

1) select an area of your life where you desire to experience more abundance.
2) Think of what you desire to experience, etc, etc.

In essence, only one specific problem is getting solved at a time. Should I answer those questions everytime the tape loops? What if I was distracted and didn't do this at the beginning or just didn't do it at all? Would I not get any benefits or would all areas of my life prosper?

What about a tape like Belief? I don't think that this would be beneficial for this tape.

I would really love to hear anyone's thoughts on this. Especially if you've already done this with other tapes and what kind of result you had. I'd also like to hear which other tapes would be good candidates for this method and why.

I know I have a lot of questions but any input would be appreciated.

Before I forget, I noticed that a lot of people had trouble getting their paraliminals to be in stereo after recording. Originally, I had the same problem and the quality was terrible (lots of noise). At first I thought that it was a problem with Sound Recorder not being able to record in stereo. I checked some settings and sure enough it was set to mono. I changed the settings and I was still having problems. Then I ended up downloading Goldwave which is a really nice sound editing tool and recorded in there, but the problems persisted. After thinking about it for a moment, I decided the problems had something to do with the mic jack on my sound card. Normally, with a microphone, you can't seperate left from right anyway, so perhaps the manufacturer of the card decided not to support stereo in the mic jack (probably very common). I switched my cable to "line in" on my sound card and it came out perfect. No noise (well no more than the original tape has) and it's in stereo. Hopefully your sound card has "line in" or "auxilary" jacks in the back. I hope this helps somewhat.

General paraliminals like memory supercharger and personal genius for example are better suited for repetition. You are right about belief not being a very good tape for repeating.

Lion,

I'm in the middle of trying to do the same thing you are with one exception. I'm attempting to add binaural beats, a la bwgen, to the megaparaliminals. I ended up downloading Cool Edit 2000 to record to, but it has limited capabilities and a 30 day limit unless you register ($60). I can't find a crack that will work either. So one of my questions to you is, how is Goldwave?

And now for my biggest problem. . . Amplification. I don't know if this is just my sound card or what, but in order to hear my recordings well I have to have the volume on max, even when I play them on Winamp. Does anyone know how to amplify the input or output?

I'll add one more thing. I found a program that may add to our creative range. Its called Internet Audio Mix 1.48 from www.acoustica.com It allows you to mix multiple tracks and record as wave files. Possible uses include adding music or binaural beats to the paraliminals or mixing paraliminals (imagine having personalgenius, memorysupercharge and naturalbrilliance all going at the same time -- might be fun, might be pointless )

Maybe its because I used my walkman to record from; would it make a difference if I used a stereo? Even my walkman got loud enough for it to destort the recording though. Does anyone have any advice?

Bye the way, I just thought that self-esteem supercharger would be a great one to add to the mega session. . .

Thanks for the reply. Belief, is definately not one of the tapes that you would try this with. I have a feeling that some other tapes might (like Prosperity), but how much benefit you would receive is hard to say. There is a possibility that you would receive less benefit doing it like this rather than the intended way. I was just hoping that somebody out there tried it and had some success.

Goldwave is pretty good, but I don't know how it compares against Cool Edit. I'm more of a graphics person than a sound guy so I'm not really qualified to give you a good review. Just give it a try, you might like it. The URL is www.goldwave.com in case you don't have it.

As for amplification, well... I know that there is a mic boost (+20db) in your volume control (assuming you're using one of the windows flavors) when advanced controls are turned on. The strange thing is that the advanced settings are not available in "line in," they are there only for the mic. So if you're using line in then this won't work for you. Oh, also make sure that when you are setting the record level, in the control, that you are viewing record levels and not the playback levels. It's been my experience that even though you might be able to view the mic (or line in, or auxilary) with the control set to playback, it does nothing unless you explicitley set it in the record option. Mine were also very low until I changed them. Then they were too high, and everything was distorted. I just had to play around a bit with the volume on the stereo and record levels for the sound card until I got a good combination. On another note, it might very well be your sound card. In which case the only other options are that you buy another sound card or do it through software once recording is finished. I know that Goldwave will let you do this but I'm not sure of Cool Edit. However, there is a risk of adding noise or distortion by going this route. I hope this helps.

I had a similar thought concerning mixing. What I was thinking about was having the same paraliminal mixed in but delayed for a few seconds. In essence, you could listen to the same paraliminal twice in the time it took only one. I think I like your idea better about mixing different paraliminals together. Will these ideas work? Who knows, but it might be worth a try.
