Guys,
is it ok to listen to these paraliminal tapes while say..playing computer games? I know I will not get the complete effect, but will I get any?

Thanks,
Haig

Funny you should say that! I listen to subliminal tapes all the time when I'm playing computer games, but subliminals do not require your attention. Not sure about paraliminals, though! For full effect don't you need to be in a position where you can give yourself entirely to the tape? Having said that, if you look way back in the forum's annals you will find a post where Pete says that a person listened to "Memory Supercharger" constantly for three months with spectacular results. I guess you must get some rienforcement from listening to the tapes, though. Try it and see.

I listen to tapes while I'm working, doing homework and (gasp!) driving - don't worry, I know how to override the commands to close my eyes .

My theory is that these tapes use light hypnosis to affect change and many states, including the state of concentration while studying or working and the "auto-pilot" of driving are actually mild trance states.

I've been using this theory for a while, primarily with the Personal Genius tape and I've seen some amazing gains. One thing I do notice, though, is a one or two week lag between when I specify a goal and when I notice it "taking hold."

For example, about 3 weeks ago I used Personal Genius with the goal of improving my visualization skills. Last week I found myself running through a martial arts pattern in my head. I was able to mentally practice the pattern so well that, even though when I first learned the pattern I didn't completely understand all the movements, the next week I passed a test on it without ever physically practicing the whole thing in the intervening time.

In summary, I would tend to agree, that we don't get the _full_ effect when listening while doing other things but I personally feel that every listening session counts and rather than listen to music (which I used to do during almost every activity), I might as well listen to something which will postively impact my personal development.

Play with it!
Mike
