Hi all,
I am a new learner of PR from Hong Kong. I've just read the book written by Paul R. Scheele(of coz, it is a chinese version) and I have a great interest on learning PR. After reading the book, I try to "photofocus" on the book.
The problem is "I don't know what the correct photofocus is".
I can see the "blip page", but the words is totally blur...
can my brain still read it?
Where is the correct focal point of my eyes?
behind the page or just in front of the page?

Thank you for answering my question
Fung

Check out this link. It has excellent graphics of what the blip page looks like.
http://www.learningstrategies.com/forum/ubb/Forum8/HTML/002421.html

On the whole your vision should feel relaxed. Drink plenty of water - be relaxed and play with it.

You are looking for parallel focus when you photoread, an eye on each page.

Vison 3D has some techniques you can try to obtain the focus. http://www.vision3d.com/3views.html

If you really have trouble just soften your gaze and use the imaginary X Technique. Your focus should be on the four outer corners of the book as well as the point where the X would cross.

For the record I use this technique as well as the blip page interchangably.

Thanks Alex,
I have read the pages that u've posted. I have visited the vision3d.com and I can successfuly read the hidden pattern after many trials. OK..Then, I open my book..and i try to tune my eyes to parallel focus. I see the "blip page" but the words are blur.
Would u like to tell me that how the words look like when i am in the correct photofocus state. It really confuses me. Sometime i think i am in "cross viewing" but not in parrallel viewing.

Thanks a lot!
Fung.

The words are blurred usually a soft blurred though it would depend on your natural eyesight.

If you see 3D ok then just notice how relaxed your eyes were. Keep playing with it, let it feel relaxed and occasionally compare the feeling with the 3D viewing from time to time. If you are doing it correctly you'll find that the 3d images are become easier to see faster.

Thanks Alex,
When i try to photofocus on the book, I just can't see the words sharply. I can easily view the blip page. But is it still be ok if the words are not sharp? I just can't tune my eyes to read the words sharp.

Thank you.

Fung

It is 100% ok if the words seem blurred. Your brain does the reading just fine.

Just see the blip, turn the pages to the rhythm of your chant and you are photoreading.

Thanks so so much,
now I think I can master the photofocus. After I have photoread a book, then I try to activate after serveral hours. It seems that I can just read it faster than before. However, there are still many points that I can't call back from my subconscious.

I am wondering if I have to photoread again when i have this situation. Also, what is the feeling of performing efficent activation??

Thank you
Fung

Hello Fung,

I am Chang Liu, a fellow Chinese person. What I think is most important is to not worry about activation until your goal for the book is at a level which you can achieve. Photoreading is like starting fresh new skill, like being a kid again and learning a new way to learn. Kids do play lots before they can full understand what it is they are doing. And playing is also very fun. Do try to notice the changes that happen when you Photoread more books. I suggest reading at least 10 more books and playing with them before moving up your expectation for Activating the books.

The sooner you get on with it and start activating the sooner you are using Photoreading. Until you really use all the steps on one book you will hold onto the barrier of fear. Do the five day test/plan that is outlined in the book and you will discover the activation process is very straight forward.

If you have the course you need to keep going not hold yourself up on anyone point. Move on to the next stage as soon as possible. I am often asked how I learnt photoreading and I had posted it here.

What you think is, sadly, wrong. It is called the PhotoReading Whole Mind SYSTEM for a reason. The best way to get the system is to use all the parts at once as a whole. To do it on a "stay until you mastered each step" basis creates both boredom and blocks to achieving success.

Following on from your own advice to play with the system, it is wise to play with all the steps at once, just like a child may play with several toys at once, or learn to use all their senses at once. They may take awhile to do it, but they certainly don't do it "one at a time".
