quote:
It's not necessary to 'read' a book a day; usually we recommend PhotoReading 10 books a day for a week and activating one of them for a couple of months. That is more like reading one book a week. It helps you to on the road to mastery of they system.

you mean do the photoreading as in getting in the proper state and flipping through the book or previewing, proper state, flipping through and more?

also

  • do you mean photoread 70 books in the one week, and that is enough practice or do you mean for multiple weeks?
  • taking one of those books and activating it daily, weekly, or monthly, and for how long?
  • how long do you think this practice [after the tapes and books] will take daily?

thanks, just wanna make sure i do it right the first time

yes, I do have aol instant messanger, and leave it on most of the time, so I am fairly easy to contact. Superman859 is my name. whats yours?

Also, alex, thanks for the explanation, I think I understand somewhat about activation now, even from the brief answer. It basically just completes reading the book, right? Without it, you've read it, but you havent "read" it, and know nothing about it. When you do that, you just basically complete the reading, making it usable to you to where you know what you have read and know what happened and comprehend it. however, your link was missing. I think I understand about activation now. Does it take a really long time? hours? And, I have looked through the archives and see people talk about activating what you have read and ways, but it is in terms like dipping and things of the sort that wont make sense to me till I get the whole package. To activate, do you need the book and do things like skimming it with normal reading or sorts of things like that, or is it something you do all in your head and doesnt require the book at all?

Agent'

First you learn the entire system. Do the course once through.

For the 10 books. (should be 5 to 10 book since not everyone has the time to do 10 a day even just photoreading)

Very light preview, can skip trigger words, getting into AL state, Photoread. Post view the book only if drawn to do so.

A selection of 10 books per week is enough. You can PR the same books and eliminate them as you activate them. It can be 1 book per day PRed 10 times.

The purpose of PRing 5 to 10 books is to train the body mind connection and to get comfortable with the page flipping while in photofocus.

Superman,

I activated a book that would normally have take me 7 hour to regular read in 30 minutes; remembering more of it too. Yes you have the idea of activation correct. Activation completes the reading process.

Heres the missing link http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/scheele.html

Yes, you use the book as a trigger to help finish the reading process.

Alex

thanks alex. They seem to make it seem a lot faster on the home page than it actually is, but it is still fast enough to get! They talk about reading a book in 5 minutes! a page a second! but the real time comes in in actually making sense of what you have read. Do you know if you have photoread a page right or good? Like with normal reading, some pages you may pay more attention to and others you may just sorta skim over a little here and there and not get the full concept...at least I do anyways. and sometimes I jump back to the beginning of the sentence and start over several times before I finish a sentence...With photoreading will you know if you read the page good before trying to activate it, or do you find out when you try and activate? Also, somewhere on the home page it talked about being able to photoread a dictionary and pick any word and know where it was on the page, is that with or without activating it? And would you know the definition too or just where the word was? Finally, say you want to read just three chapters, can you do that? Take it piece by piece instead of as a whole? Instead of PR the whole book and then taking 2 hours to activate, can you just read a page or 15 or however many and activate them and call it a night, like with any book? I gotta get this thing! haha

They say you Photoread a book in 5 minutes. A significant difference because photoreading is putting your book into your inner mind where it is more accessible. Its becomes facinating discovering how much you know from a book without having read it word for word with the conscious mind.

When you photoread you miss even less than what you do with regular reading. It goes in and because it takes such a short amount of time to go in it is easier to stay with than regular reading.

You would photoread a dictionary more often if you want to become familar with some definitions. However the practical aspect of it is you usually don't know until you use it and often you don't realise you didn't know the definition before you photoread the dictionary. For the sake of the game you think of a word and try to guess its location. It's a game. Just photoreading language dictionaries, dictionaries word and grammar books does improve your skills in using them. It is happens without seeming effort so it feels like you didn't really learn anything. Its a case of knowing something but not knowing how you know.

If you only wanted to 'read' just 3 chapters. You would still photoread the whole book (it only takes 2 to 1o minutes afterall). This gives your inner mind information that often helps make sense of the chapters. The you would only activate those 3 chapters. You take as much time as you need. Textbooks can require as much as 50 hours of regular reading to gain satisfactory comprehension/understanding. With photoreading it would only take 10 hour and this migh mean 20 minutes a chapter.

Short answer is yes. That's the whole principle of photoreading... get out of the book exactly what you want/need and call it quits sooner.

Alex

sweet, cuz it seems like they throw in a lot of useless stuff...If I had photoread everything, it might still help you and you just wouldnt know it really? and, if you photoread everything in a book, could you possibly find something to answer a question about it pretty fast? right now im answering questions about this book and im having tons of trouble just finding the answers in the book.

Experience becomes the best teacher in that. However if you are looking for something specific in a book and you pose the question in your mind prior to photoreading the book, with experience you will recognise the signal to stop and go back and read a section. and have your answer.

I did this with a dos programming book I needed to know some specific how to. To by pass a corrupt windows operating system to get to my data. I spent 3 minutes with the book found the answers and accessed my data within 10 minutes. It took longer to move it than it did to learn how to move it.

Photoreading adds to the regular reading skills. You lose nothing but gain a lot.

Looking into PR. I found that almost all the teachings are from other teachings. Mostly eastern methods of meditation and scholorship. I feel that they are not crediting them to any success of use of my people's learning. Once again, another Western Corporation steals from the East and gives it no profit.

Does photoreading act strictly as a location indicator, or a homing device? Would it serve any function or have any use when reading text book? With a text book all one needs to do is flip to the page/s specified (or chapter) in the index. When super reading and dipping (after PRing) into a text, does the information read remain or retain in the conscious mind longer than information read regularly would?
