As long as you choose to remember it. Use it or lose it applies to learning as well as memory. We remember what we feel we need to remember. Otherwise over time we will forget.
On the whole my experience with photoreading is that I remember more of the book in the first place and if I cannot remember exactly what is written I know where to find it in moments. That is, I can go back to the book and page to clarify the details that may have been missing in my conscious memory. Something I never did with reading before. With regular reading my memory was more general with photoreading it's more specific.
