i am curious to find out if any other people have ever experienced the following:

I keep remembering an image that I "took" when I was in highschool. This picture I took with my mind is there with relative clarity. What is interesting about it is the technique that I used to recall it. It actually was involuntary and I tried to purposely "lose" this way of seeing. The reason I thought was that I was obfuscating my reality back then. Now I am trying to recreate this way of seeing. to be more exact about what happened, let me explain the occurances.

By concentrating on a particular object I would see the object become smaller and smaller and then I would be able to zoom into it without actually going closer to it. I know it sounds paradox, but that is how i have to explain it. what is interesting about this is that i was able to "photograph" the image and even now I can recall it. This was more than 10 years ago. I have a feeling that this way of seeing could be helping us on this forum explore a new way of using our brain to "photograph" information. I am trying to trigger this way of seeing again and if I can I will post it here, but in the meantime, I am wondering if anyone else can do this? Thanks.

I can control mine. I see places I been with people moving around. I can interact with them on different levels. People I have previously talked to I can see their face and talk to them in my head, perfect accent of their voice and tone. As for the picture thing... I see more of a movie of events, play with it back and forth. Add in new things that wasn't there and what not. =)

Hope that helps.

the kind of memory that I am talking about is slightly different in that it is not illusionary, as yours sounds like (since you say you add "new things", etc), but rather it is factual. just wanted to make the distinction....

Explain factual... Like read books, see facts in pictures? Details in images?

IMHO, factual in his context was : The orignal image/scenerio, nothing more, nothing less.
