Hello, I've been using the Memory Supercharger for a while now, but I'm becoming a bit concerned because a number of my MS sessions have been interrupted in various ways which bring me out of the relaxed state. Actions like people opening and closing my door, electrical currents creating "bzzt" sounds in my earphones, earphones falling out of my ears, etc. bring me abruptly out of the relaxed state. Do these abrupt returns to the conscious state have adverse effects on my mind? Do I still benefit from these sessions? Should I re-do a session immediately if this happens? Help me please, I'm worried and confused.

Thanks,

LBS

You will still receive benefit. One of the reasons Paul has the closing on each Paraliminal is to help you come back to full alertness; otherwise you might feel groggy or dizzy.

That, too, is one of the reasons Chunyi Lin has the Ending Exercises after an Active Exercise session.

Thank you Pete for responding so quickly, but I'm still a bit confused...So it's alright that some of my sessions are interrupted? Premature returns to the conscious state have no adverse effects on the mind?

Thanks for everything,

LBS

Sounds like the same thing with me...after an interrupted session, I tend to be very irritable and in a general bad mood. Pete or Paul, any idea as to why an interrupted session causes this?

Oh no. You're being weird. Just your not-so open-minded parents defending you from your true potential again. Being weird is fun.

As for the bad mood syndrome, maybe it's similar to being struck by lightning, you're just not the same for a while.

There are no adverse effects whatsoever from having a Paraliminal session interrupted...unless you call personal irritation or the desire to strangle the interrupter an adverse effect.

Of course, you may imagine an adverse effect.

A gentleman called me panic stricken one Monday morning. The Paraliminal Tape broke while listening on Saturday.

He said, "I've been stuck in a deep trance since then, and I can't get out."

I explained how it is not possible to be stuck in a trance because of a broken tape, and how people spend 90% of their day going in and out of trances.

He he was persistent, and he was obviously upset. I told him to put the telephone to his left ear, I spoke some hypno mumble jumble (all right, it was positive and supportive), counted backwards from three to one, and his demeanor instantly changed.

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Nice save, Pete! What was it John Grinder said? Something like, "All you need to make a change is rapport and a ritual."

Perhaps the Paraliminals could be used to change that behaviour... Bad Mood when interupted... If it could, I would be VERY willing to get it for my Wife.

It seems likely that the bad mood resulting from interruption is a result of the enjoyment.

I encounter the same thing when I am interrupted from writing (novels). I say things that flame my ears to hear them, just because someone pulled my out of my deep trance of other-world enjoyment.

It's a bit of a bother to be brought back to the real (imperfect, anxious, and terse) world after experiencing something so close to enlightening peace of mind, afterall.
