I will be starting in two weeks. Here is what I have so far. Lots to do to keep me busy during the time that I am trying to adjust to the schedule, I am retexturing and painting the entire inside of my house. I have set-up time to not have to function for a week, I am on vacation for three weeks. I will get a vibrating alarm clock, I am figuring on doing 8 minutes of exercise after each nap to get the blood flowing, I will be mostly on a protein and veggie diet, and vitamins. I plan on dropping the caffine and smoking. What am I missing, are there any paraliminals that would help with this transition? Maybe NBG. Any feed back or advise would help thanks.
Rad Rich. :-)

Whatever you do, be sure not to push yourself too hard, and also be aware the it could require more or less time than you've probably already alotted to adjust. I haven't tried out the schedule before, but I have read up on plenty about it. You may want to be flexible about that 8 minutes of exercise.

Once you do adjust, the REM intensity, and ease of obtaining lucidity increases, you know. If you'd be interested in trying out some LucidGame stuff, let me know. youngprer@yahoo.com

This sounds fascinating. Has anyone had any success with this?

The 10-Minute Supercharger is excellent
for giving you that boost you normally
get with coffee.

Hey!

I've been trying out polyphasic sleep for a while, but am not totally polyphasic yet (I haven't really put my heart into it). You might still want to learn from my mistakes

The one thing I highly recommend, is to find original ways to wake yourself up, and to KEEP YOU AWAY FROM THE BED
(hint: one alarm clock isn't enough)
I've often found myself falling right back to sleep when waking from a nap... specially around the 4AM time frame.

Another advice is to get used to napping frequently prior to trying the switch... If you can find two 30 minutes spots in the day to fade away, it'll get you used to napping. Then three. then maybe four?
By the way, a nap should NEVER exceed 1 hour. And a 'core sleep' cycle should never be LESS than 4 hours...

All in all, my experience with semi-polyphasic sleep has reduced my average sleep time (to a not-tired state) from over 10 hours to around 6. i.e. I can work longer with less fatigue when I nap
I might experiment further later this month, when I get to finish my last final

HTH!
Cheers!

PS: You might want to find that book called "Why we Nap" at your local library it's quite informative!
