I've activated many books in a restaurant. Photoread a stack before the meal and start activating one afterwards.
When you first learn to enter the accelerative learning state it helps to have a bit of peace and quiet. After entering it 5 to 10 times you just need to think of it and you start heading there. Sure it happens that while you're photoreading that someone interupts you. My solution is simple turn back about 10 pages and photoread from there after the distraction is gone. When you got kids 3 and 4 nearby those interuptions are common.
Activation passes are also multiples of short passes so don't get bogged down. Just remind yourself that it's only 3 to 7 minutes per book anyway so you've always got a good chance to be finished before you get interupted.
