Hey guys,

A question about the format of memory supercharger. The left ear hears a story for the right brain and the right ear hears positive feedback, directions, etc for the left brain, correct?
To me that doesn't make sense because when you hear something from the left ear for example, it DOES NOT GET SENT TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BRAIN. When you HEAR something from the left ear, the message gets sent to the left side of the brain and visa versa. ITS NOT THE OPPOSITE like most other split-brain functions like touching and seeing. (according to a recent chat with a professor)

Can someone help clear this up?

I think (I'm not 100% sure) that what is confusing you is that the "wires" to left and right switch near the top of your spinal cord. Thus, you would be correct if you were feeling the information with your right hand (->left brain). But I think that maybe because the ears are in the head, each has a direct connection to the brain without any crossover. Hope this helps and that I'm not just making it up :-)

Impulses from the coclea go through the spiral ganglion, to the cochlear nuclei of the medulla. Impulses are sent to the superior olivary nucleus and via the lateral lemiscal tract to the inferior colliculus. The auditory cortex in the tmporal love via relays in the medial geniculate body of the thalamus. The inferior colliculus also sends input to the superior colliculus of the midbrain. The colliculi act together to initiate auditory reflexes to sound. The auditory pathway is unusual because not all of the fibers from each ear decussate, therefore eachauditory cortex receives impulses from both ears. It doesn't really matter one story is more for the logical mind and the other more for the analytical mind. Together they get the conscious mind overwhelmed and silenced so that the message goes to the non conscious mind where it does it work.

The brain sorts it out. We still generally prefer to take in logical information from our right and creative information from our left. All the information and even our physical senses actually fire off both sides of the brain. It's only by brain "dominance" that we have a logical/creative split however both sides need to understand both otherwise we wouldn't be able to think on a conscious level.

Ok I think I'm starting to understand better. But let me ask this now. Why does Paul Scheele want "the story" to go more to the left brain and "the directions, comments" to go to the right side in the first place. Why does it matter? Would I not get any benefit if I switched the ear phones?

If you listen carefully both voices are in both ears so that people with hearing defects in either ear still get the dual message. Also inthe late 80's when the paraliminals were first created the left (story - creative) and right (logic - direction) thing was considered fact. NLP wise the way we focus our attention still agrees that this is the majority of peoples external cues, regardless of how the brain processes them.

Maybe someone could experiment with listening to one or more paraliminals with the headphones reversed if it hasn't already been done..
