Mind Mapping is the most efficient way to take notes -- in my opinion and I believe in the opinion of the majority on this forum. Check out Tony Buzan's Mind Map Book, but keep in mind that you may want to transition this technique into your daily routine gradually. I have been working on Mind Mapping for a month or two now and I'm finally able to make them quickly, effectively, and naturally. I'd never go back to old linear notes again -- too boring and not much fun to make.

But then again, some no one technique is for everyone. Others will tell you that you can learn Mind Mapping on the Internet, but I myself have found that insufficient, and Buzan's book indispensable.

Does anyone know if Tony Buzan's 1996 version is the same as the more recent 2003 version? Does anyone suggest one over the other? I'm interested in getting this book...

Having seen both versions the information is the same.

Superreading is pulling the eye down the center of the page while seeing the whole sentence with an expanded gaze. You move down the page at an average of 4 to 10 seconds per page. Dip to read the senetence, phrase or words that answer your mind probling questions.

Some subjects seem more difficult, to make notes of with mind mapping maths, algorism and formulas, etc,(once you have a grasp of mind mapping you will discover there are ways.)

There are a number of note making systems. I had written a 5 page article for someone on making notes (he wanted alternatives to mind mapping. I suggested incorporating mind mapping with a couple of the systems.) You're welcomed to email me for a copy of the article I attach it to a reply.

When superreading and dipping I recommend you stay with the activation process for a while before picking up a pen to make notes. This gives you opportunity to know the subject before getting caught up in copying the details.

Taking notes whilst superreading and dipping can greatly slow you down, however when it domes to doing it right you need to test and find what works best for you.
