Well, the grades came out for my first semester.

Literature&Movie 65
Economic 27
Accounting 30
Calculus 8
Pratical Law 30
Spanish 56
Word Processing 88

I failed five courses out of seven, so right down the dark pit of emotions here. I know I should pick up those books but I never did. It has been almost a year since I came to know LSC and I haven't really use this resources well enough to gain any benefits for myself. I know I know I shouldn't be beating up myself over this but is just that the consequence that follows up overwhelms me. How do I overcome anxiety and fear? I know I can "choose" but...how~~!

I know that you haven't really started even learning photoreading let alone applying it. Having been in contact with you for some time now, I can understand your frustration, cramming style learning went against your nature. Like I've said, you need to set yourself realistic goals. I know you've been aiming for 90s but you have to crawl before you can walk and you have to find the learning style that works for you.

Kimax2000; "I know i should have picked up those books but i never did". The fear is a major distraction. You have too many things (studying in school and excelling)to be concerned with.

I think a good place to start with is affirmations. What the mind can conceive can be achieved.

Some affirmations.

I can learn anything i want.

I am a powerful learner.

I learn easily and quickly.

Kimax; write down some study goals for yourself. Divide the studying you have to do in reasonable chunks. Study for 20 minutes take a five minute break.Repeat the cycle. After 90 minutes take a 15 break.

Kimax; you got some feedback from your grades. This does not mean you can't learn or you are not smart.What this means is that the current approach you are taking to school is not working and it is time to change it. Use this experience and learn from it and let this be a pivotal time in your life where you turn it around for good.

I havent really put too much effort into learning photoreading in the last few months that I was introduced to it. I havent had much free time to practice and build my skills because I've been so bogged down with book reviews, chapter essays, movie reviews, creative writing essays and powerpoint projects, all due at the same time for school. But, I have been trying to PR something every day. Sometimes I PR everything I read, either before or after I read it regularly, but I dont activate much (or at all)... I've still noticed that I am doing much better in school by PRing my matterials a few times each.
Before my first history test this semester, I just did my studying regularly and failed the test, as did the majority of the class... For the last test, I didnt read much of the chapters. I only had a basic idea of what they were about, but when it was time to take the test I had already PRed the chapters at least 3 times. The class average was a 77, my score on the test was an 89. I can only attribute that grade to PhotoReading, because the teacher doesnt teach anything, and it is left up to the students to learn the chapters themselves. So, I'm pretty convinced taht PRing works now

Why don't you pick up the books and just look through them without any expectation. It has become more fun for me when I let go and enjoy the process. Give it a try.

I am Curious. Did you just do the photoread part more than 3 times (more like direct learning) but not the full photoread system of 1. prepare, 2. preview, 3. photoread, 4. activate, 5. rapid read; each time?

Your answer will help me play with this.
