Hello im reposting this, i hope one of you guys can help me.
ALright this is going to sound very odd. I purchased the photoreading home study course about three years ago, while i was in a sophomore in high school and i was so incredibly scared to face the fear of the course not working. SO i would listen to tape 1 and tape 2 and i would never go beyond that and i did that for three years. THe course has been sitting there in my desk for so ver long and finally now that i am a freshman at college i finally got the courage to listen to seven tapes of the 8 tapes a week ago. Actually maybe it was not the courage, its just that i did horribly my first semester in general chemistry 1 and in writing. I felt so overwhelmed and hopeless with all the work. So now that i am midsemester into my second semester i am doing even worse in chemistry, i dont understand the concepts i cant use the right reasoning to solve any of the problems (im failing the class) and feeling hopeless, ive talked to the professor for extra help and asked for a tutor, nothing seems to be working. Its mostly because i didn't really understand the concepts of the first semester so thats why its becoming more complicated to understand the concepts of the next semester. I dont want to fail. SO..one day i suddenly remebered that PR was still there and maybe it could help me with understanding chemistry, im trying to play with it like Paule Scheele says but things aren't working. I have photoread three sections of the textbook and attempted to activate what i photoread by mindprobing with the textbook's question and honestly i dont know if i am doing anything right. Im really trying to make this work but i just feel so bad, things aren't going well. I feel like i am in so much pressure right now. Please someone help, i need so much advice!!!

Beginning PhotoReading is not just starting to practice a new skill. It involves a whole different way of looking at life. There may be many issues that you need to resolve and incorrect, self-limiting beliefs which you need to release. When you're feeling bad, keep in mind that the only reason you feel inferior is because that's what you've picked up from the mass consciousness. Remember the old saying "this too shall pass." Equating a single pattern, grade, class, or present situation with your total self-worth is completely unrealistic. Remember that many people who contributed great deals of knowledge to the world did not fit into the mold of the school system. Albert Einstein, for example. Use this knowledge to feel good about yourself no matter what results you seem to be producing at the present moment. This will help you to detach from anxiety-bringing expectations which only limit your performance. One of the precepts of PhotoReading is that in order to learn, you need to treat grades as "feedback" from which to learn. This sounds easy, but hey, I'm still developing my ability to truly stay emotionally detached However, you will find that once you let go of negative emotions, (whether they are at the surface or buried deep within your subconscious mind) you can have an insghtful perspective on any situation and know the best actions you can take in order to improve your results.

Consider this first year in college as a phase of your life. Realize that if you are willing, you can make this time a transition period. During this time you discover the methods of relaxing, calming your emotions, learning, studying, memorizing, problem solving, test-taking, etc. that work best for you.

PhotoReading has been a tool which has helped me to realize some of these truths for myself -- I too am going through a transition period in school. However, there may be some additional things you need to consider or learn which may both complement PhotoReading and your increasing ability to learn about how you learn best.

I would recommend looking into some kind of meditation. You may not realize how scattered your mind is, and calming it -- reducing the interfering thoughts you may be having can be the first step to learning easily.

I wish you the best of luck. The first priority is to learn to relax your mind and calm your emotions so that learning new concepts such as PhotoReading or Chemistry become easier. Trust that you will find the book, yoga instructor, meditation group, or quiet spot in your garden that is best for you.

All I can do now is tell you what has worked for me. Having seen a recommendation on this very forum, I purchased Anna Wise's High Performance Mind meditation book and the guided tapes as well. This has helped to reduce the mental chatter which makes it harder to sort true activation insights from nervous conscious guesses.

Remember, millions of people are right now experiencing a similar situation to yours. The difference between you an them is that you have taken initiative and decided to ask questions. You are opening to find the true answers. Trust that you'll discover how to learn easily and peacefully. It may take a single day to see your first positive results, or it might be a process that will develop gradually over the next few years. BE EASY ON YOURSELF! Listen to your body. Rest when it needs it, no matter what anyone else thinks should be doing.

I hope at least some of this has helped!
If not, please say so and ask some more specific questions :-) I'm glad to help because I know your pain, having experienced it myself!
-Cameron

When beginning to learn PhotoReading. First Learn the system away from school books. Especially if you are having trouble with the subjects. Your anxiety is only going to greatly slow down the learning process in both subjects.

The time you take to concentrate on learning PhotoReading seperately is small compared to how long and the emotional cost it would take when combined.

Start with 3 or 3 non fiction books that interest you but have nothing to do with the subjects you're studying at school.

Dear Dcromagirl; the fear is interfering with your learning. The fear is a major distraction and is hindering you from learning.

I will give you my opinion i hope it is helpful to you.

Buy the paraliminal tapes Personal Genius, Memory Supercharger, and Belief.

Listen to Personal Genius everyday preferably first thing in the morning and listen to Memory Supercharger every evening before retiring. Listen to Belief on the weekends.

If and this is a big if if you know how to photoread photoread your chemistry textbook everyday. Forget about activation. You can learn about activation later. If you know how to do the photofocus and photoread you will have the material from the chemistry textbook operating on 2 levels the conscious level and the other than conscious level. The learning will become easier after multiple passes of photoreading.

You will have the advantage of having the material exposed to the other than conscious mind which can attend to 20,000 things at the same time and the conscious mind which can attend to 6 to 8 things at the same time.

I said forget activation for now because right now is not the right time you have too much stress which hinders learning later in the future you can learn activation on something simple which has no pressure or too much riding on it.

You can benefit from Photoreading only and just use regular study methods but wait one thing i would highly recommend is that you spend 2 or 3 hours learning mindmapping and definitely start using mindmapping with your chemistry class.

Dcromagirl; a quick note. When i said learn mindmapping 2 or 3 hours i meant just one time commit 2 or 3 hours to learning mindmapping once not spending 2 or 3 hours everyday. Just spend 2 or 3 hours one time learning it and then use it regularly on your studies.

Mindmapping is simple really you basically have a picture or main theme in the center of your paper and then you have all these separate branches that are related to your main theme. You might want to check out www.mindmap-com.

Keep in mind that, while Mind Mapping can be a WONDERFULLY useful and fun creative technique for remembering and learning, it may or may not require more than those 2-3 hrs. to initially start thinking in a whole different way. I know for me it actually took a few months until I got it right. Now it's getting easier and easier every time I apply it.

I think I can identify with you. All photoreaders probably experience this on some level. It's possible that you may want to fail, in your subconscious, of course. If you did not acknowledge the concept of failure, it wouldn't exist in your world.

Anyway, the system is surprisingly simple. It's easily adjustable, and it's really easy to use. You can trust that your whole mind can do this! If you think you're going to fail, do what you can to prepare for it, such as by working on your thoughts first or getting proficient at deliberate relaxation.

It might be a bitter pill, but sometimes failing is the best thing that can happen to us.

When you fail a class you learn that the world doesn't end when you fail.

When I attend classes and feel that I might fail, I look at it as an opportunity to relax. Basically, I tell myself, "Ok ... you may fail this class. You can either work your butt off and stress out like a maniac, or you can relax and do your best to learn the material in front of you and deal with whatever happens." I usually take the second approach. If I relax and attend to the information, even though I may not understand it, I am getting exposure to it. It's going in and my mind is going to process it. If I have to re-take the course, then the second time will allow me to relax some more and take things easily, letting myself get it on the second exposure.

If I have to, I'll review basic material in between classes or at the beginning of the second time around. Again, taking it easy.

Your situation sounds like me and math. It is very easy for me to get discombobulated with math because of my history with it. I basically learned to feel crummy and confused by math. It sounds like you've done the same with chemistry.

You may want to do some work with loosening up those tight and confused feelings and coming from a different standpoint. If you are familiar with NLP, you can do some anchoring work and change personal history with the chemistry class. If you start your work with a resourceful state, it'll help.

I wish you all the best.

Hello everyone! It's my first time writing in this forum!I'm glad to have found a place where my questions regarding Photoreading could be answered.Actually,I've just got the book few days ago and just Photoread a book on business writing handbook today.Letting it incubate for 24 hours .

Dcromagirl,I hope you've now succeeded in photoreading your chemistry textbook. The main factor that hinders you from faring in the subject might be the pressure you're having now.As what Paul Scheele wrote in the book, you ought to photoread in a relaxed manner and believe that you're doing it right.Just be confident and relaxed.I understand, though, the anxiety that's torturing you right now.Hmm...I'm wondering whether you could comprehend the concepts subconsciously if you do not understand them consciously. Is it possible?Alex?

Another suggestion:Assuming that you're majoring in Chemistry, why don't you change your major then?If possible. You might have to study for a year more or so,but you're just squandering your time away if you keep reading sth you don't comprehend at all.Furthermore, you might find the field where you true nature lies, provided you're willing to chance your arm.

Good luck!Trust yourself.
