An excellent way to increase the amount of material I am able to listen to while I work out, etc. is to use a program to speed up the material, which I got the idea of from the LSC "fast finish" sessions. Our brain really can hear speech at much faster rates than we normally talk.
I rip the CD's to my computer in .mp3 format, then open them and speed them up. I then reburn the files back to a blank CD. It works wonders!
The program I use is Adobe Audition, and it has an option for 'fast talker,' but I'm sure there are many other less expensive programs that will do the same.
Alex, are you aware of any?
