Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer A Clearer Definition

I have a question regarding the use and meaning of the term "PhotoRead". It seems clear from the book, that PhotoReading is both a process and a step within a process. Specifically, the PR system is comprised of the steps: Prepare; Preview; Photoread; & Activate. So, is it the whole system or just the single step? Or, is it both?

For example, on page 78 - at the end of Chapter 6, "Activate" - several samples of success are cited:

"A PhotoReader was giving a radio interview about PhotoReading. She PhotoRead a book by an author who had just been interviewed. The author asked her specific questions about the book and the PhotoReader spoke in great detail precisely answering th equestions."

"On another radio show, the astounded host exclaimed after hearing the PhotoReader's answer to a question, 'You are almost rereading this page. That is page 97 randomly pulled out of the book. That's exactly what it says there.' Later in the show he said, 'It sounds like I have the author on.'"

"An average student PhotoRead a novel for a literature exam and scored 100 percent."

For these examples, are you referring to the "system" or simply the one step of PhotoReading within the system of PhotoReading?

The import of this questions is this: Can we expect value from just the PhotoReading step itself, knowing that further, deeper understanding comes from the whole system; or, for any real benefit, is the whole system - with all the steps and all the details - necessary?

Most of the time when we say we photoread it it usually means we did everything but rapid read it. The trick to gaining a high level of skill with the system is to use it step by step for about 50 books or more. I really started noticing a level of mastery when I quite focusing on downloading the information by photoreading but did the system and took the time to activate. The more I activated the less time it took.

They all learned the full system and were fully capable of applying the full system and usually applied it.

From time to time we have spontaneous activation where the material comes to us when we need it having only done the photoreading portion.

If you want to have experiences like those described in the book... learn the full system, apply the full system that's the training that makes room for the faster speeds that develop with use of the system and the probablity of spontaneous activation increases.

Thanks very much for the quick and lucid response. It is helpful to those of us trying to visualize the target,the end we are working to achieve.

By the way - along that vein of trying to see where we are capable of going - do you PhotoRead the posts to this site so that yo can formulate a cogent response. Or, does so-called "normal" reading have to be done in order to write a responsive answer?
