ugh, I tried both methods and STILL cannot keep a soft gaze. I can do the cocktail sausage thing, but I can't SEE beyond something being blocked. I tried the stereogram in the manual to no avail. Is there anyway I can ever see this? I've never been good with those stereogram things. Cocktail sausage is as far as I got and I have no idea how to tell whether or not I have soft gaze. My eyes keep getting sore and I don' t know how to control it. Advice please!

RDB,

I don't really know about what what you are talking about... do you want some advice on how to get the blip? or do you want to know how to do the soft gaze thing?

I know that this isn't going to help you much but I just couldn't understand it!!!

Also, I think I know how to look beyond things.
you see, you will know which one is cross eye viewing and which one is parallel viewing.

Try cross eye viewing and you will feel like you are looking back(not looking the object, but in front of it.)

But when you do parallel viewing, you will feel relax. Begin by making the object come really close to you, and than try to focus on it, then let go! focus anything that is far away from the object.

I hope that help...(probably not... Alex's post is way better than me.)

-Harris

Well the way I understood it, a soft gaze will help get the blip. But I don't even know how to go about doing a soft gaze. In the PRWMS manual they say put your nose to it and then move away slowly but then I see nothing and I've been staring at the stereogram in the manual the WHOLE day trying to see the letters photoread. No success. I tried just looking for a blip and it works for like 3 seconds then my eyes get sore. I'll try what you posted now and see if it works(no pun intended).

The stereogram in the manual is the most challenging to see. Print some out from the web to play with.

Otherwise just do the Imaginary-X Technique. Notice the four corners of the book while looking into the center crease. Instead of looking at the words notice at the pattern of white between and around the words. The blip page will then show up when you're ready. In the mean time you are in Photofocus without noticing the blip that's all

If you seriously want to play with the blip page, grab a book go outside and pick an object in the distance, then slowly bring the book up into the view about 12 to 18 inches (30 to 45cm) away from your face. Keep your focus on the distant object and just notice the blip appearing. You might find it easier to PhotoRead by looking over the top of the book at something 6 to 10 inches (14 to 21cm) away.
