Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer Getting ready for school

I'm new to writing in this forum.I have a couple of questions to ask. I'm excited to get all the info I can get. I've been playing around with the PR course for about 8months now. I found it really helpful when it came to reading plays. my purpose was to read the plays easily and without confusion. to my surprise I went to my class and most of the students had a hard time with the materal, I didn't. I tried this with other classes, such as Bio and Sociology, and I didnt do as well as I would have liked. I wasnt grasping the mat'l like I wanted. I believe it was my purpose statment that was the problem. The purpose I used for Theatre class was not useful in my Bio and Sociology. I tried other purposes, but failed at the goal I wanted to acheive. Were talking about confusion, learning Definitions and Statistists. Can someone give me a good stratagy and purposes to help me with my spring semister: psych 102, Anthro, Bio and Food and nutrition?
My next qestion is, if I start PR now at the library would it benefit when my class starts in a couple of weeks. For example PRing a bunch of Psch books today, or should I do this a week before.

It's a mistake to think there is one purpose to fit all. You have to consider the book that you are about to PhotoRead. What is it you want and need to get out of this book? What do you plan to do with the information once you get it out of the book. Your purpose to read the plays easily was very specific to the book and class.

To read the Bio and Sociology material easily isn't the same thing for ultimate purpose. What you required from the books is more than just to read it easily. What do you need to know? How to you plan to apply that knowledge? That is your purpose.

Your purpose can change even as you activate a book. Your first purpose might be to PhotoRead the book to determine if there is anything you need to know from the book to apply to the class. Your second purpose with the second activation might be to activate a specific part of the book for xyz class.

As for PhotoReading books in the libray, go for it. Can be done at anytime if you have a purpose for doing it all the better.

Thanks for the reply. Coming up with a purpose is a pain in the butt for me. Now this is how I understand things.
1.Have a purpose before photoreading, "like to read without confusion so that the chapter will flow".
2.When I read , which is part of the activation process, A chapter like Pych 102 book have a one purpose, "have a deeper understanding of the chapter.
3.Second activation would to reread chapter with a different purpose in mind.
And proceed after I find the answers to my purposes until satisfied.
Is this correct?

That's not really a purpose. It's an affirmation of how you want to read the book A purpose is why you are reading the book.

Why even bother with the book? Where do you expect to use the information. What good will it do you?

Again that is statement of how you want to read the book not why.

Why do you want a deeper understading of that chapter? How will it serve you?

No you don't need a different purpose to activate further. You only need to activate till all the questions relating to your purpose have been answered. If during the activation you discover information that raises a new curiosity and discover an additional purpose then you have a new set of questions to be answered.

Purpose is why you are reading the book..

Ask yourself. What do I expect to learn from this book. How do I expect to use the information. Where, when, how or why would I need this information. With whom do I expect to duscuss this information.

Answer questions like that and you will find your purpose which you will add to the end of the statements you have so far.

E.g.have a deeper understanding of the chapter so that I can... correctly answer the questions in the exam that henny Penny sets for the class next week.
