As I've been applying these tapes to acts as tools to enjoy life and experience endless enthusiasm toward life, I've notice some changes that have been kinda depressing. As I get excited over upcoming projects or applying myself to accomplish goals, I've notice that the friends I've grown up with lack this enthusiasm. I'm 23 years old, so you can see I'm at the point in my life where things are just beginning. What I'm trying to say is, what do I with friends that depress me? I don't want to leave them, but they're holding me down with their lack of jest. All they want to do is sleep all day and drink all night. That's not life! I want them to get the same enthusiasm I've been baring witness to, but I don't want to tredge on their free-choice. Should I get new friends? UGH!! I feel like a jerk asking that!

Hi!
Well, you answered your own question there, now didn't ya!
Nah - you don't need to throw them out. But see them for where they are, and that you are not there anymore. You can nudge them along, but you sure can't change them. And don't let them change who you are developing into.
Meanwhile, new people will come into your life who will share your enthusiasm and you'll have new friends to hang out with.

Ann (who's been there)

Man I am in the same boat. I am twenty-two, turn twenty-three in march. Young adults focused on their future are a rare breed. Most people are age learn the hard way. There is too much stimulation pulling their infant minds in different directions. Everyone's values are different, being that you value something that is real, you are going to be like a beam of light in your friends lives. When they see you rising to the top, they are going to want to learn from you. But for right now they live in the box- they are skeptical to put effort into anything. They probally are so used to their daily routine of responding to the circumstances in front of them. Their happy they drink, their stressed they drink.

Believe me I know what its like to be alone in your ambition, path, pursuit of knowledge. I had a hard time for a long time feeling so alone and weird, but know I realize we are just evolving ahead of the pack. Focus on you. Don't waste precious energy trying to convince people your way is the perfect way. Its just that you are ahead of them, they will catch on, but they have to go through certain things on their own in order to wake up. Be a quiet superman, an observer of people and events, but even though you know deep down inside you are powerful, let others find out on their own. God works his plan in peoples lives through their lives, we don't need to interfer. Live and let live. Just remember you are on the right track and you have to do for you, don't get influenced into thinking your friends lifestyle is better. Its not. Keep your focus.
