Has anyone here ever tried other types of memory/ reading systems? For example, Harry Lorayne, Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory, Reading Genius, Howard Berg's Mega Speed Reading, just to name a few.

Alex, I personally think that those systems could complement Photoreading.

I also took a course in Subliminal Dynamics. It also promised reading speeds of 25,000 WPM.

That's not the case, I think he was saying that you need review what you've learned at increasing intervals of time rather than continuously.

Phoread, i also think that different systems could complement PR, but how? Still thinking about it.

Nick, you're right about the revision schedule at different intervals. What I was trying to say was that students must revise, otherwise all their efforts that they invested in studying will be wasted.

I currently use a multitude of varied reading/ memory systems, depending on the material. It's all a matter of individual perference. You've to do a lot of experimentation and see which one is more or less suitable for certain subjects. From my experience, I like using Howard Berg's Mega Speed Reading for leisure. On the other hand, I would rather use the Reading Genius for academic pursuits. I use Mind Maps for everything.

After reading the other threads and posts, I'm beginning to become very intrigued and interested in Photoreading.

How is it possible to gain such a high level of comprehension in a span of 30 minutes?

You learn and apply all the steps of the system

Alex, how long will it take for a total novice to reach that level of skill? Years?

You can learn it in a weekend. In my classes they spend about 20 mintues with their own book and are challenged to talk about it for 2 minutes afterwards. Many can talk longer.

I had one person talking for four minutes about what he learned from his book in those 20-minutes in my last weekend seminar. He doubted that PhotoReading was going to work. Since he had difficulty with books in the English language (a second language for him) and then was able to talk for 4 minutes about what he learned from his book. He could have kept going too. That impressed him and his partner.

So it doesn't take long at all. They are all talking about what they learned after spennding 10 to 20-minutes from their book by Sunday of a weekend seminar.

I assume that those books which they read for 20 minutes were fiction?

What about textbooks? I don't think it's possible to read for 20 minutes and remember so much detail.
