I mean from the sceintific point of view. What we do when preparing is to create a "layout" of the material to be read. Then in the activation step you read the parts of major interest, The rest is read through RapidReading.. So, what is the role of the PR step?

In the activation step you don't read, you super read. The material is already in your head, you're activating it.

PhotoReading puts the information into the other than conscious mind. Call it a pre read before making it conscious.
