Hello! This is my first post here. I'd just bought the PR book 2 days ago and have been reading up on it, although haven't finished reading the book yet.

I want to attempt PR for a text book that I am going to teach from. It's about more than 800+ pages divided into 13 chapters.

To be honest, I'd briefly read the whole text book cover to cover a week ago and have quite a good idea what's inside.

To PR on a book of this size:

1.) Should I preview chapter by chapter, each taking no more than 8 minutes? Or should the 8 minute preview be for the whole book of 13 chapters?

2.) Will it be a good idea to PR the whole book in a shot to get the whole picture or is it advisable to do it chapter by chapter?

If the books is difficult for u,u must treat each chapter as a single book.
U can get a whole picture of book,by activate the whole book in 20min.keep your activation short,each pass 20~30 min.Take multiple pass

Roger that. Ideally, I'd reduce the number of activations (most time consuming) but since the volume may be large/difficult, extra cycles of the process will need to be introduced to cover the whole book right?

I suggest learning the system on a smaller book first. Use the 5 day test if you're only learning from the book.

The preview should be of the whole book and no more than 8 minutes.

PhotoRead the whole book in one go. When it comes to activation you can PhotoRead the chapter you plan to activate again if desired.

Thanks for your response. In fact, I've just come to the 5 day test part of the book. Will definitely be doing it.

I know I'm supposed to start with a smaller book first but since I've got to prep anyway. Might as well take this opportunity to put in some practise.

Think I've hit a little bump here, hope to hear your experiences.

How long should the photoread step be sustained? I can't seem to do it more than 20~25 minutes at a stretch, my eyes get tired and felt very dry.

If I were PhotoReading a 2000 page phone book at one page per second it would take about 25 minutes. I would consider taking a break at about 1000 pages.

An 800 page book should take no longer than 10-minutes, 7.5-minutes if you're flipping at the rate of one page at 2 seconds when PhotoReading. So I suggest you flip faster. Get into the rhythm of the chant.

Yeah, I was PR-ing at the double pages at 3~5 seconds each flip and I didn't complete the whole book at one go. OK, I'll try again.
