I just develope a Software with a friend of mine, which will everybody enable to take the photoreading step on the computer with digital media. Currently we support .txt .pdf so everybody is able to read nearly everything on the computer (simple creat an .pdf and thats it... pdf creator is a free ware product).
When the program is in the beta phase we will make it free available to everyone and it works on nearly every OS because it is written in Java.
We currently stuck at one problem. Imagine following. You have a 3d pic behind the Text and you are able to set transparenty as you like. From white background 100% to 3d pic background 0%. We usualy choose 30-40% Transparenzy. So you still see the 3dpic to concentrate on.
Now I have realized, that I contentrate more at the flashed text than ever before. Because I just sit infornt of my computer have a releaxed position and try to hold my mind focussed. thats all... no pag flipping, no readjusting photo phokus and so on.
So I had an Idea. Why not have a 3d pick behind which moves. Imagine you have 3d pig behind, and on it there is a ball. The ball jumps every 3 Seconds to another location. One time it is in the middle, 3 secounds later it is in the right up corner and Seconds later it is in left up corner and so on. Of course randomized, so you never know before. Now you have to concentrate on the 3d pic to see where is the ball next. You are in photo phokus all the time, if not you wouldn`t see the image. And you have not really time to concentrate on the text.
My question is following. Would it be maybe more distracting to concentrate active on such a ball while you are photoreading ? Or would it be better ? We won`t build something in which is contra to the photoreading step with a book.
Expert advise only please, its really important for us.
