There is always something holding me back from action - from using my mind. In highschool I was too bored to do the work, today my attention span is just as limited unless I am deeply interested in what I am taking in, and I'm surrounded by beliefs which are so bound to the said thinker's paradigm that I cannot take them seriously. This, of course, leads to more problems. This sort-of vicious cycle plagues my life. I consider Photoreading to be just what I need to help me break-free from such stagnancy and maybe discover where my true abilities lie. I'm a younger guy who has just begun to scratch the surface of the photo-reading technique. In other words, there are some discrepancies I'm having, and along with that some more general questions.

Excuse me if the issues at hand have been discussed before but I tend to learn best when I'm helped directly (which may be why I had trouble with the techniques described in the book).

First off, I cannot achieve photofocus when looking at the middle of a book because there is nothing concrete in the distance to focus on. It seems that I cannot formulate an imaginary point at which to stare at in order to coincidentally bring the pages before me into a "photofocus" state. To test this, I grabbed a book from the cheap-assed school I used to attend (regretfully) in which the binding was seperated by that plastic loop stuff. I could literally see through the middle and achieve the state as described in the book. All attempts to look at the center of normal books caused my eyes to cross.

Another pressing issue I'm having is disruptive background noise within myself, which keeps me from being focused. This may seem strange, but it is as though I perform self-sabotage, as though I will make knowledge into my own enemy to hold me back from success. I over-analyze and have trouble simply relaxing, my attention has to be won - I cannot create it.

Despite this I gave it a shot and photo-read two books that will provide a base for tests I will have to write eventually. I couldn't create photofocus so instead kept the entire book in my sight range. Since it has only been a couple of days now, I have no obvious results yet; however in another day or two, I'm going to do test questions based off the books to try and see if I had learned anything. And I do note that my dreams are quite vivid, but that's nothing exceptionally new. Thanks for your time.

What about the rest of the system?

To succeed with PhotoReading it takes more than the blip page. In fact you don't; let me emphasis this, DO NOT , need to see the blip page!

In fact if you cannot see the blip page don't waste your time trying to perfect this step. Use the rest of the system while using the imaginary X- Technique. It's the rest of the system that determines ones success or failure.

PhotoReading is the easy part. Softly gaze at the page looking through the book. Flip the pages so you are view one page per second (that flip every 2 seconds you're looking at both pages at the same time). Say the chant to keep the photofocus state.

It's everything else of the system that determins what you get out of the book. The fact that it goes in is done.

The inordinate amount of time being wasted on seeing the blip page is better spent practicing the activation techniques and training your conscious mind to receive the information from the inner mind. Do more activation passes with the time wasted looking for the blip page.
