I’m using 3 technologies for a post-graduate finance program: Photoreading, free-noting, the *concept* of Flow (I read the author’s original book titled FLOW, but with a name like Czeahlkahbafbadlfalifadlkb, I won’t try to type the author). The program is 3yrs, all self-study. I’ve been very successful the first two years but keep trying to find better ways to study. I’m having problems with the Photoreading program. I agree that learning occurs in layers and start by Photoreading the material. Then I try to scan the material or read over it quickly, then I was going to go back again and read in-depth and take notes and freenote for activation as well as answer questions and mindmap. The Photoreading step is fine, but scanning and quick reading seems to do no good. I can’t focus on the material, I get stressed trying to push myself faster than I want to go; I seem to pick up nothing. Last night I thought maybe I should reverse some of the steps. Photoread everything first, then read slowly, think about the material, play with it, doodle it, freenote, etc. Then go back and review it by reading quickly, scanning and dipping. The slow reading with freenoting, etc is the most FLOW-like experience of them all, and I enjoy it best. I definitely agree with the main concept of Photoreading – that learning is best done in layers – so my goal is to pass over the material many times, but I’m wondering if reversing some of the Photoreading (whole mind system, not PR step) steps would be better. Anyone here every changed the PR formula with any success?
