Hi, I have found out an interesting thing, there's actually a World's Fastest Reader Certified by the Guiness Book.

His name is Howard Berg, but I don't seem to find him mention that he can read more than 25 000 WPM??

How is Paul Scheele's speed compared to his?

Anybody got any clues?

It is not wise to compare. Let me give you an example. Let us just say that you enrolled in a photoreading seminar.

You are in the photoreading seminar but you are struggling & having problems. You just don't get it. Another person in the class is excelling. They are doing just great! It seems like everything is just a walk in the park for them. Everything seems to come very easily for this person. This person is doing fantastic.

The bottom line is the other person's success has nothing to do with you. And even though they are doing great what is most important is what are your experiences. What are your results.

The other person results have nothing to do with your results. You must have your own experiences.

Many misformed people think Photoreading is reading. Photoreading is not reading. You are not reading when Photoreading. If you have read the photoreading book you will have read that where Paul Scheele shares that photoreading is not reading.

It is not possible to read at 25,000 words a minutes. Your conscious mind can only attend to 6 to 8 bits of information at a time.

Pete tells me Howard is a sweet guy. He also said he personally uses techniques similar to PhotoReading. He had difficulty teaching others how to do it. So credos to Paul for finding out how those fast readers do it and then developing a way to teach others to do it.

Howard's course is an excellent method to improve your reading and learning skills if you don't want to go the PhotoReading route. He doesn't promise to teach you to read at 25,000 words a minute because courts ruled that you cannot "read" faster than 800 words a minute. That's why the Guiness Book hasn't entered any others. And yes there were others recorded faster than 25,000 wpm. The put more print on a page to allow the individual to get closer to that 100,000 wpm mark. Fastest you can flip pages is about 60,000wpm with the average text in a book.

Paul's tested at 68,000wpm with 74% comprehension in 1984. PG 5 PhotoReading book 3rd edition. fastest recorded speed was 693,000wpm with 70% comprehension score. Remember PhotoReading is neither reading nor speed reading. So it cannot fall into the record book under "reading"
