I have been trying out several activation methods lately, but i am not sure which methods are usefull, could anyone help me on this?

1st method:
Rapid read chapter, followed by mindmap of that chapter... going back to the book to see what i have missed out or not understnad

2nd method:
Rapid read whole book, followed by mindmap...

Oh, and could i pick up more triggerwords while activating?

Superread and dip or skitter, build in layers.

The disadvantage of rapid reading straight away is it keeps you in passive reading mode.

Get active ask questions and as you find the answers add the answers to your mind map.

Alex,
Don't take anymore days off mate. I check this board everyday. As a happy LSC user with a umber of programes I enjoy your helpful imput, but I think that loco weed tends to get thrown in when your away. (It reminds me of a gun forum where everybody has a .40 Glock blow up in their hand. I've yet to see one even malfunction out of some 14,000 in my job over the last 10 years.)

I usually know what's going on on the forum. I don't rush to respond sometimes. You know the saying don't feed the trolls.

You know though. It's not PhotoReading people doubt. They doubt themselves. They all know of people who can do this weird stuff. like PhotoReading a book and know what the book is about. Have a terrific memory and remember stuff in detail. Be able to say pi to the 10000th decimal place.

There are people who know how to read but cannot comprehend what they read. There are people who cannot read, referred to as dyslexic. The only thing they understand about their problem is other people can do it why can't they. Usually they can and do learn to read it isn't an easy task.

The point is if one person can do it then there must be a way for others to learn it. That's the thing with PhotoReading.

Now you could try skipping steps and not do Superreading and dipping and head straight for rapid reading. What you are really doing is extending the learning curve.

Shorten the path to mastery by doing all the steps and I keep recommending that you do more activation before going to rapid reading.

If you haven't seen it watch the Karate Kid. Watch it sometime with the point of view of learning a new skill. A whole weeks worth of exercises meant nothing until it all comes together.

Yeah, same with purpose, trigger words, mind probing questions and Superreading and dipping and skittering. These seem slow and tedious. Yet they train the mind and the body mind connection.

Alex

I am sorry, i guess i might have typed too fast... what i meant is super-reading each chapters, which is better? as in the method of layering, chapter by chapter or simply by the whole book

You tell us. Since it depends on your purpose. The type of book (textbooks you need to treat each chapter as a book and they are not necessarily done in order.)

What you want (purpose) from the book will determine where you open it.

hmm, i would say technical books? coz liek they first teach the fundamentals, then each chapter supposely get progressively harder? tats why it needs to get activated chapter by chapter..

but if its like a encycopedia, i could simply go to any part that contains my answer??

I am not sure if my understanding is there, can u guide me?

Oh, that's a useful line. No, really, I doubt photoreading. I'm pretty sure I don't doubt myself (pinches self), nope, I exist to the best of my knowledge.

I usually read the summary at amazon.com or the back cover at the book store and have this knowledge too! And I never knew how truly amazing my ability was! Thanks Alex.

How many photoreaders know (not know of, nor mom's friend's second cousin's daughter) people that can do this? Very few people can. Even Kim Peek doesn't photoread books but reads them.

Hijacking the credibility of one superability to bolster another doesn't prove it.

And that's what most doubters are looking for. Proof.
