Is there a problem while practicing SFQ while on medication? I'm taking Coumadin (blood thinner) until around October then I'll be taken off it. I don't take any other medications, just vitamins. I was wondering if I should keep practicing SFQ or wait until I discontinue it before I practice. I don't want to cause a conflict. Does anyone know about SFQ versus medications?

Thanks for the support everyone!

Blessings,
Diana

You can keep practicing qigong. Your condition may change in relation to taking medication and doing qigong. You may become better, and not need the medication. This may be a gradual change. If you are going through changes, you might want to monitor yourself closer on the doctor side of things.
You have to coordinate that a bit, in terms of weening off medication, "if", that is the case. Also, in the meantime , you can put your energy/intention into the medication you are taking. Ask the higher spirits/master's energy to put what you need into the medication, and have what you don't need, to move through you (just like releasing a blockage). Use your sword fingers to put your prayer in, or just hold it up and visualize the prayer. Remember, in practice, the exercises are always balancing your body, as is...you are always better off doing qigong. Don't stop. You may adjust your focus if you have concerns. Inactive versus active.. Do what feels good. If medication is a question, you should talk with the doctor, but don't worry about practicing qigong. It isn't a time to yield, be an active participant in your self healing.

Diana,
I thought a bit more about your post. In your case, weening of the medication probably doesn't apply. This is probably a short term deal while you recover. I don't think a doctor can monitor anything. I would think blood thinners are a "preventative" medicine, to prevent clots, in conjunction with your surgery. There is nothing to monitor in terms of a doctor taking you off them. Everything else I said still goes though. Keep practicing as you feel, compliments your recovery time. Qigong will not endanger you in any way. Work within your limitations.

Thanks Gallen!

I don't think I will be weened off the coumadin either. The dr's will just take me off it. Yes, it was to prevent blood clots from migrating, that showed up after my surgery. The usual course of therapy is 6 months after the first time one gets blood clots, so I should be finished by the end of October.

Since I'm having so may somatics popping up from doing SFQ, I want to help the medicine work. That's really a good idea, asking the Master's energy be put into the medication to work better. Thanks!

Blessings,
Diana
