My father-in-law was in a serious car accident last night and is currently in critical condition. The only details about injuries I have so far is that one side of his brain is not receiving enough blood flow.

While I'm sitting here feeling helpless waiting for the phone to ring with more information, what can I do through meditation to help him?

I've been practicing level 1 for about 6 months now fairly regularly.

Thank you for your quick responses.

Love and peace, Lisa

Dear Lisa,

I am so sorry to hear of the accident suffered by your father-in-law. I see that you placed him in the healing circle yesterday. He was in my thoughts as I participated in the circle.

That helpless feeling is no fun, and it's wonderful to know that SFQ can give you tools to actually do something meaningful for someone in pain or difficulty.

I have two ideas or suggestions for you, since you asked. One is this: go through the healing procedure that we do in the healing circle. You can do that at any time. You can do it over and over, any day, any night, any time. You can put your father-in-law in the chair, and all the healers in the circle. I often invite my whole family in to help send love to someone who needs it, even though they aren't students of SFQ. Many times I put myself in the chair AND in the circle. Then, do the exercise, and really feel the warmth of the sun. See the people smile, see your father-in-law smile, as the healing work is done, as pain diminishes. See the blockages melt away. See him as completely healed.

It's a very powerful meditation.

Another one to use, is to imagine the patient at an earlier time in life, when health was at its best. Make it real. Pick a time of great joy, health, and happiness. See the smile on his face. Invite the man in the chair to go back to that time, and feel what that is like. See him do that. You can do it for yourself too!

I wish you and him the very best outcome.

Hi Lisa:

I liked Anita's answer a lot.

While meditating and even in the flow of your moments you can also send love energy to all the people helping your father-in-law and of course his/your family too. The more people around him are energized and sending their support in their way, the more powerful their love energy will be to help him heal. Have no doubt that you don't have to be an SFQ expert to send powerful healing energy to others and family members already do this quite well. With SFQ you can help take this up a notch or two and be a catylst to multiply this healing love.

And watch out for all kinds of family healing. There is nothing like a sick family member to bring a family together and heal old problems and blockages in these relationships. There are lessons around every corner here so keep you eyes, ears and heart open. The universe will keep talking to you and give you all kinds of opportunities to jump in. You are always in the right place at the right time.

Lots of Love,
Agent B

Thank you Anita and Agent B for your support and guidance. I do feel the various qi gong techniques and meditations I've been doing have helped everyone a lot.

It's going to be a long journey for Ron and all of us until he is back on his feet. We are going to need a lot of help from the universe as this goes on. The biggest obstacle is that he is 3-4 hours from everyone's homes. So family and work life is taking a huge toll and probably will continue to throughout the summer.

Right now he is still barely conscious, sleeps most of the time, and can only respond to questions with a slight nod of his head or a squeeze of his hand. He is amazingly "unbroken" considering what his body went through but has a few serious problems. The most immediate is his lungs. He has broken ribs on both sides and cannot breath deeply because of the pain. So fluid build-up leading to pnuemonia is a constant concern. But I heard yesterday that he was breathing much more deeply, deep enough to snore loudly, so that's a good sign that his ribs aren't bothering him as much.

He is also very weak on his left side, they think he may have had a stroke. But the neurologist says the MRI showed no reason why he couldn't have a full recovery with aggressive therapy. And that how well he did depended on him.

I'll be heading back to the hospital in the morning to stay for the weekend. I'll put him on the group healing list again.

Thank you all for your energy and your love.

Lisa

Hi Lisa:

You have a real opportunity to learn SFQ and apply what you are learning in many ways every day. Take it one moment at a time and one day at a time. Even though you are 4 hours away you can do a great deal of good from that distance so don't feel guilty if you can't always get to his bedside. He will know when you are working on him and appreciate all the love you send.

I keep getting this message that you should consider calling Master Lin from Ron's bedside and he will help you heal Ron and you'll never forget the experience. If other family members could also be there it would be even more powerful.

Hi Anita,

Did you mean call him on the phone, or call on him by the bedside? I wish I could call Master Linn, but I'd be afraid of imposing since I've never met him. I'm thinking that if everyone called when there was a crisis he'd never be off the phone.

Ron is doing a little better each day, but only time will tell how long it will take and how much functionality will recover. He is heading in the right direction though.

I have been practicing a lot more since this accident and I feel my practice has advanced significantly by this experience. It's amazing how much more power/energy I feel next to the hospital bed than I feel remotely. I'm guessing its because the compassion is so much more acute and the love flows so much easier and fuller.

I've ordered the level 2 dvd and will be applying what I learn from that also. Hopefully Ron will be moved to a hospital near by next week.

Thank you for your thoughts Anita.

With love, Lisa

kienholz, yes Master Lin does do phone healings. I won't post the phone number, but if you visit www.springforestqigong.com you can try the contact phone number. If they don't book an appointment or give you the number for booking it (which I'm pretty sure they will) you can try emailing Shawn. I have a number but I don't know the understanding for distributing it.

In fact I recieved two numbers this weekend at the retreat, one is for the site above.

Master Lin does many phone healing sessions. The standard rule is to have a glass of water by the phone when the session starts. However, at the retreat Master Lin mentioned that he energizes large amounts of water for cancer patients for prolong consumption.

You are perfection,

I want to thank everyone with their help, energy, love and support for Ron, my father-in-law. In the last month he has not only survived this serious accident but has improved immensely. In fact, today he will be coming home from the hospital.

He is probably 70% of himself before the accident, but is still making progress everyday and we hope for a full recovery. I have no doubts that the healing provided through qigong by you and myself have made every difference in his recovery. The doctors and therapists are amazed at the speed of his recovery (so am I when I consider only two weeks ago he was being fed through a tube, could barely communicate, couldn't feel or move much of the left side of his body, etc, etc.).

His challenges now are continued healing and repair of his brain, especially the right side, and all recovering all the functionality that comes with that, and moving through the grief of losing his wife earlier this year. The auto insurance company is providing 24-hr nursing at home along with therapists specializing in brain trauma recovery, so he has every advantage he needs.

Thank you again for your love, I am very grateful.

Lisa

Aloha kienholz,

Thank you for the update on your father. I'm glad to hear he's well supported there. Please keep him in the weekly meditations.

Much Love, Shawn
