Although AgentB's response was interesting
and helpful in a general way, it is still
not responsive to the question of osteoporosis or curvature of the spine.

I'm hoping someone, who is not presently
reading this forum because of the
time of year, will have something more
specific to share on this question.

I know that answers like the one given by agentB may not be as satisfying to some as a specific prescription of do A, B, C to solve problem X. This is the way western medicine approaches problems. It is very good for some things, and may eventually be good for all things, but it is not the Qigong approach.

The Qigong approach is to work to balance all energies (qi / chi) within you; be they mental, physical, emotional, or spiritual. Doing the level I exercises and focusing on the 6 key elements is the best thing you can do.

I've studied the material in levels I, II, III and I think AgentB has given you the same advice I would have. Use the self-concentration meditation (level I), to visualize yourself free of you specific conditions.

I know that Master Lin has some specific techniques for some specific ailments, but I am not aware of any for the problems that you've both asked about. So doing the level I exercises with the suggestions from AgentB is my best advice.

You could of course contact Master Lin for distant healing sessions, and at that time ask about anything specific you could do for these conditions.

Lastly, you can add these people to the Saturday healing circle.

You are perfection.

Aloha fego, Gianni...

I apologize for not seeming to answer your question directly. It was to refocus on the simplicity and power of the material we already have in front of us - the level I course. You'll find that out for yourself just as your seeing in the posts and insights coming from Gallen, AgentB, and Iam2 and others as their daily work and connection to all develops.

Darcie my wife, wonderfully reminds me of this all the time with the vast variety supplements, healing modalities, tools, etc. that I have the opportunity to interact with due to my job here at Learning Strategies, SFQ Association friends and sacred bodywork connections.

Balancing one's system with the level one exercises allows healing to go on at many levels including changing the way one digests and assimilates, food, universal energy and life.

As AgentB and Iam2 point out, it's not always about a special technique to do the job. We can all take some time and look at what Master Lin has presented and guiding us with in the Level I course philosophy and methods. As Iam2 points out, the Self Concentration exercise in itself is an entire primer in personal intention, focus, manifestation and healing. Does your friend have, borrow from you, or get together daily with you to do the level I exercises? Have you worked on your friend with the level II work -or even the introductory sword finger work found a the end of the level I course?

If one wants a jump start, they could also set up a healing session with Master Lin. Spending personal time with the level I work will take that healing even deeper.

As for undesirable hair. Qigong masters have created all sorts of effects like generating nerve cell growth, or even changing the way their eyes lids look -which is normally genetically governed. The self concentration exercise gives one the foundations to adapt from. If one puts time, energy and focus into it, many things are possible. If one wants to put in the time working with the hair in their intentions, visualizations, and sword fingering the area -a difference can be made.

Much Love, Shawn

The physical problems in some cases are believed to be the result of blockages. These blockages can be physical and/or emotional. That is NOT to say the physical problem is not real. However, the blockage might not be in the area where one's physical problem appears.

With that said, it brings us into seeing why healing can not be a blueprint for each physical symptom. There might be some recommended way to minimize the immediate discomfort. The root cause is still there and is different for each individual.

The way to a better health is to achieve better balance for our body and let our body does its own healing. Of couse, in addition we are also blessed with many modern techniques to help us along this way if we needed it.

It is pretty amazing the human body! Smart! - From both Western and Eastern point of view looking at it.

Good points Bluebird.

Fego keep in mind that in our culture certain physical characteristics may be labeled as "bad" but in other cultures around the world these traits are actually thought to be beneficial. For example, I was recently in Peru and the little indian women wear many bracelets on their legs because they want their legs to look fat and not skinny.
