I'm am very new to SFQ. In fact, I just started last weekend. After learning "sword fingers," I attempted to do a healing on my very sweet little cat who has a fast growing tumor in her oral cavity. She seemed to feel a bit better the next day and I am continuing to do more work with her and she seems perkier the day after I do. My problem is that I do not feel energy coming out of my fingers when open my hand. I feel tingling sometimes, but that is it. I usually feel more tingling when I do the active exercises than I do with "sword fingers." I used this technique on myself yesterday when a strange rash appeared on one of my arms and it disappeared even though I felt no energy coming out of my hand. Any thoughts as to what, if anything, I am doing wrong.

I can't tell you how wonderful it is having all of you here!

Barb;

I would not say that you are doing anything wrong. You use your mind to direct the energy. The more certainty you have that it is working the stronger the energy flow.

As in the finger stretching exercise you really don't feel the energy working but you notice that your finger gets longer.

I would just say follow the instructions provided and as you gain experience your questions will all be answered.

Thanks so much, Jeff! You're right about my needing to have more faith and certainty in the process. Hopefully, the longer I devote my time to SFQ, the more my faith will increase and the more the energy will build.

To echo jeffdengr, you are doing it properly. We shouldn't judge our success based on our experience. Even interpreting the results are usually beyond us. At least for a beginner like myself.

It's encouraging when we feel the energy, but we should exercise our faith more when we lack those signs of physical experience. Master Lin says that as you progress with your meditations, you experience a time when the sensations are weaker or completely lacking. He says this is an opportunity for progress, because our channels have been opened.

It is nice to emmerse oneself in these experience. When the tactile is reduce, it is a sign to me to work on the elements of success. Faith is one, confidence and visualization are the other two I tend to work with the most. But that's me.

You are perfection.

Thank you, IAM2. As I have said, I am very new to SFQ and I am mostly concentrating on understanding the active exercises and coordinating the visualization and breathing. I am hopeful that with time and dedication to both the active exercises and meditation that I will grow in all aspects of my practice.

Again, thank you!
Barb
