Write down your dream and free associate with significant parts of the dream. You dreamed of a friend, who does this friend remind you of, what do you like about them what don't you like. How do you feel about them.

One thing to notice is your emotional reaction at various points of a dream.

If you cannot intepret the dream don't worry about it the non conscious mind worked it out perfectly.

Dreams are the minds way of finishing up day to day business sometimes they will provide warning that your actions could get you into trouble. Never fear if you don't consciously understand the message the non conscious mind is aware you might find yourself wanting to mouth off at your boss and your dream has already worked out that the consequences of that could be immediate dismissial. Not worth it if your boss only needs to be aware of the fact that your co-worker isn't pulling his weight. In the dream the mind may have already worked out that your intention of giving your boss a piece of your mind will backfire. So when it comes to the crunch you may well find yourself not saying anything again but sensing it's for the best simply because your conscious mind hasn't gathered the meaning of the dream.

Best way to intepret is to ask your self what does this mean to you. So if the dream had a significant colour like Blue ask yourself what does blue mean to me. You will probably find the first answer that pops into your mind explains it. Like Blue ocean, calm, peace happy might be the associations for the word blue. Mother might be mum, best friend/worse enermy (depending on your relationship) happy spark, chirpy happy, strict... do it fast you will find that that the right answer comes up first. Sometimes the same word will bring up a positive/happy slant other times the negative/unhappy feelings about the word fire up. That's just pointing out the angle of your dream.
