When I do the feeling exercise, the feeling changes in the middle of doing it. Do I start over or keep going ?

Keep going. Feelings are like that. They change over time.

Feelings are more like a moving river than a still photograph. They flow and change over time.

Pragmatically, it would be silly to start over. Because feelings can change at any time. You'd be starting over, and starting over, and starting over, and starting over....

Starting over means not accepting what is in the moment and holding on to an idea of what you should be experiencing instead, isn't it? Isn't that sneaky?

Just let go and accept what is.

Isn't that just too cool to notice how the feeling changes just by experiencing the feeling without labels, judgments, etc - the feeling "just as it is"?

Would you share some examples of how the feeling changes - from what into what?

Sounds like you're going great. Congratulations!

Blessings,
Jenny

Thanks for the feedback.

I understand that one of the reasons for doing the feeling exercise is to recapture the power in the feeling. If it changes before I get to appreciating or loving it just the way it is, am I getting that benefit ?

The point is to love and accept what is in the present, the ongoing manifestation of yourself. It's to be fully mindful in the present. If you are thinking about what was, you are probably vacillating between what was and what is.

Think of the feeling as a flower that is blooming. While its expression changes its root is the same. So just accept and love your experience *JUST THE WAY IT IS*.

If you're vacillating, love and accept that.

If you acquire the skill of being in the moment and accepting what is, the initial expression will come along and you can say hello to it and appreciate it in the moment without thoughts of the past or future, shoulds and shouldn'ts taking you away from the moment.

It's not to re-anything. It's to appreciate the power of your experience, your manifesting in the now.

ontheway1,
You ask, "If it changes before I get to appreciating or loving it just the way it is, am I getting that benefit ?"

What I believe is your intention in doing the feeling exercise was gain the benefits of doing so. So, the way I see it is you did gain the benefit from your intention that opens you up to experience more abundance. I just love this work.
Best,
Richard
