I have set a goal which says " I choose my career to be in the top management of a big organisation, which allows me to express my my creativity and management skills and knowledge, working for and with people I love, travels to many different places around the world and making an income of HK$2m a year".
I am having some difficulties in visualising because I am torn between whether I should visualise me achieving this goal in the context of my current workplace or in a different organisation. You create what you believe, right? So , if I visualise the images in the context of my current workplace, it will manifest as such. On the other hand, I am thinking that I should venture out, I have been with the current organisation for about 4 and half years. I am not sure wwhich way I should go?
Is there anything I can do to clear things up for msyelf?

Wow what a mouthful. Why don't you make separate goals. Pick the most important one to work on first the others will follow.

By creating too many rules you limit what could happen and as you can see from your experience you don't know what you should focus on.

With all goals visualise the outcome you desire.

Hello there,
If you did stay with the organization that you are with now, is there a position that does pay what you want and if not, are there any possibilities of creating such position depending on the size of the organisation? if its a yes then go for gold.
If its a no then let it come to you during your visualisation session instead of forcing it on to yourself, trust that it will come to you. You already know what you want so work with it and let it come to you. No goal is too big and no thought is too small to make a difference..
Perhaps you could focus on what it would be like living that life, feel the feelings and let the images flow in..

Alex - I am a bit confused. On the one hand, as I understand, we have to be as specific as possible in setting our goals and now the message is : do not put too many restrictions in goal setting. So how do I achieve balance?

Specific can quickly become limiting. How do you tell. It takes too long to say it is one way.

Specific like a boss saying, 'I need the information about this for my my meeting with x client on my desk by 5pm tonight. '

Limiting is 'I need the information about this for my my meeting with x client on my desk by 5pm tonight. I want it double spaced on yellow pad with black ink 3 by 5 card.

What type? I know you have informtion that you want creative and all that but there are so many possible fields what already holds your interest.

I choose my career to allows me to express my creativity and management skills and knowledge.

I choose to work for and with people I love.

I choose travels to many different places around the world.

This way travel may or may not be part of your work after if you're earning enough ehy not have enough free time to travel. However it becomes a limitation if it must be part of your career to travel it might make other things like travelling with a significant other impossible. You may or may not want that. Also within the rule of working for people I love...well when you're travelling you may be working for people you may not be able to love. It becomes a limitation

I choose have an income of HK$2m a year".

By separating them into individual choices you let the universe bring it about in the best possible way.

The second danger of your original goal is is the income of of HK$2m a year you might wind up earning that income for the company you're employed for rather than for yourself.

The more detailed you are in your goal statement the more you risk creating limitations. Focus on the outcome and if like in this goal you might need to say I choose more often.
