Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here could recommend any other companies products that they have had success with. I have both the NB and PR courses from LS, but I really can't see any more that I am really interested in with them (except when genius code debues). Anyway, I have looked at the Centerpointe program, and it seems interesting, but I really don't see much of a goal that it has. Anyone have any experience with this? It would also seem that it would cost a mint to finish the entire program. I have also looked into some home-study courses concerning the Silva Method, but I don't know which is the best to get. Are there people out there that feel that this is a good method. I am mainly interested in products that help to focus, increase mental capability (memory, creativity), releive stress and all of that...I really don't have any health problems so the Qi course really doesn't interest me. I am really interested in this brainwaive entrainment stuff...Is there anything anyone can recomment to learn how to create your own or maybe a good set of CD's that I could purchase.

Thanks,

JR

Hi JR!
Have you tried "Mindtek" products (mail me if you can't find it and I'll give you a link)? Frankly, I find their brain entrainment more powerful than the Centerpointe stuff, to feel at any rate. I am in the CP programme on the inner level, by the way. Also, if you are interested in learning I could recomment "accelerated Learning Techniques" by Brian Tracy and Colin Rose. I also have all the "Superlearning" stuff, but I wouldn't recommend it. In my opinion, it's a sham.

One of the big goals for binaural entrainment as I see it is to eliminate the negative conditioning a person has picked up. I find paraliminals and other systems for that matter excellent for positive conditioning.

But the centerpointe program (or mindtek is excellent as well) is the first system that I have found that does the hard slogging work of reducing negative conditioning. Without the false restrictions we place on ourselves our potential is incredible. That's why I am a big fan of binaural beats.

Hmmm... looked at the Mindtek site last night. It certainly looks impressive--and is a small fraction of the cost of Centerpointe's program--but I have two concerns:

1) The CD's have "affirmations" on them at a subliminal level. Unless the person recording those affirmations is both extremely knowledgeable and ethical, there is too much chance that they will have a mixed--or even detrimental--effect. Those who lack complete knowledge of how the mind processes verbal statements can inadvertantly cause the reverse effect (of what they are attempting)--for example, through misuse of negatives (see basic NLP info for explanation). And if the ethics are questionable, this is wide open to abuse...

2) Which brings up the second concern: an earlier post on this board (search back a page or two for the post) which claimed that Dane Spotts is a con man and very shady character. Is there a factual basis for this claim?

All in all, I would rather just get the binaural technology WITHOUT having someone else's "brilliant" ideas of what affirmations would be good for me (or perhaps for their own pocketbook) playing subliminally.

Can anyone speak (knowledgeably) to these concerns?

Thanks!

I have the book "The Photographic Mind" by Dane Spotts. It comes with a CD that has his technology on it. The book really isn't bad in the sense that his exercises for learning memory techniques are much better than average. I haven't gotten much out of the CD, but I haven't listened to it every day for 30 days as he recommends. I wouldn't put the CD in a league with the Paraliminal tapes.

He does provide a list of the affirmations in the book and it seems to be an accurate representation of what is being said, based on what I've been able to pick up. Spotts does appear to have had his run-ins with the law, related to his marketing practices.

Hi again JR
Having thought about it, there are two other binaural things you could consider. Not a lot of people know this but Hutchinson has a series of 6 "Megabrain" recordings, but I'm not that impressed and the music is horrible and menacing. I got mine from Lifetools UK - check them out on the net.
Another thing I have heard about are the "Gateway" (nothing to do with the software company) CDs produced by the Monroe institute.
Have you got a mind machine? Thay are supposed to work wonders (like everything else in self help!)

shinsei I would recommend that you use the bwgen. It is still a powerful program, I just think that its not as powerful as holosync from what I have heard from others. I am certain that a person could experience a great deal of growth with the bwgen as well and its affordable.

Hi shinsei! I think you have raised some good points. The thing is, I am not pushing "Mindtek" at anyone. I have teir stuff and all I can say is that the relexation from it "feels" more powerful than other stuff I've tried. Also you get a lot of stuff in the package! And it's returnable if you are not satisfied.

As to your concern about the subliminal stuff, there are messages on the CD's but a FULL transcript of subliminal content is given and, you can vaguely hear the suggestions themselves, so if you have the equipment you can isolate the messages. I, personlly, don't think it's a problem. I am very happy with all th stuff I got in the package.

As regards Dane Spotts as what was it? A "shady" character, I don't have the knowledge to comment, but I would be interested in what people can say and prove about him. However, the CIA did purchese "Brain Supercharger" technology from dane Spotts, according to his book, so I don't know what to think!

I have just had a look at the dane spotts posting and I am not sure whether you can judge a person's products on his business practices. But I agree that someone who makes a money-back guarantee should honor it. That is one way I am very impressed with Learning Strategies!

I have heard that the MindTek products work. I am not saying to go with them or anyone else for that matter. A person really needs to go with what feels right for them. One technique can work amazingly well for one person but do nothing for another. Just follow your instincts.
