i have the first centerpointe course, and IMHO, it sucks. Some people whose opinions I respect and whose expertise is in the potential of the human mind said that people who are skilled at entering trance ("trancing out") think the tracks are great. I, on the other hand, have difficulty entering any kind of altered state of awareness. Of all the times I listened to the cd, it tranced me out a grand total of ... <drum roll please!> one time. All the other times I found my mind racing and tired of listening to those stupid rain-drops. Email if you'd like my opinions on alternatives, or to buy my centerpoint course #1, whatever it's called...

... I don't mean to say that I think centerpointe sells snake oil, all I want to do is provide some balance... When I was looking around, all I found were "rah rah, centerpointe is aWeSomE!" messages. Only after I bought the course did I find some not-so-flattering reviews. Centerpointe's website seems to be down at the moment, but (from Google's cache) on one of their pages, there's a testimonial quote that goes something like, "I'd tried a lot of stuff - TM [transcendental meditation], NLP, etc, and I still felt like I was missing something. Holosync bridged the gap for me."

So maybe if you've tried it all (meditation, IS, NLP, etc), Centerpointe's program might be worth a try. I haven't tried it all, and I feel like I've wasted my money. Maybe I shouldn't sell my copy, come back to it in a year or two.. ? [thought about it, I'd rather have the money, still for sale. =)]

... found the text that provided the unflattering review... I'd post it, but I don't think the reviewer would be happy if I did. In a nutshell:

-this guy didn't go past the first level
-"[the tracks] sound and feel 'cold' to me"
-other mediation soundtracks give him a "warm" feeling, which encourages more usage
-used for four or five months, only zonked him out & left feeling "quite groggy".
-friend regularly experienced hypnogogic phenomena, but friend's got lots of altered states experience
-finds "white-noise-like effect" useful for meditation

krackrabbit, my mind raced during prologue as well. The CD's were driving me and they were working. I don't recall the goal of the CD's being to trance you out. Rather they are intended to push your nervous system to the point of threshold and to breakthrough to a higher level of functioning.

Yes the first level can be a little uncomfortable but sometimes it is necessary to demonstrate some ruggedness to get through it. Just listen to the CD's for 4 months and don't judge the experience until you get to the end of it. If it was worthwhile then you move on if it wasn't then you send the CD's back. For me the rewards far outweigh any short term discomfort.

Krackrabbit & others,

Yes, I am using the centerpointe program as well. I came thru centerpointe thru sedona.
I agree with those mails pointing out the
features of both programs and how the built
on oneanother.

Also Krackrabbit you will get a full refund
if you are unhappy with the first level of
the centerpointe progam.
You claim your refund up to a year after you
purchased the program.

I think that Centerpointe is the best method because all you have to do to initiate it is listen to the cds. This circumvents all the built in resistance and denial that we must usually deal with in beginning and maintaining a personal growth system - and which frequently sabotages us just when we finally reach a little paydirt because of the discomfort of our feelings. As this is usually subconscious and supported by rational excuses we have concocted, we are usually helpless to fight the urge to quit. With Centerpointe, the relative ease of use is its greatest asset.

I find Sedona to have great value as an adjunct, but as mentioned earlier there is another similar method called Focusing based on the book by Eugene Gendling. I find Focusing to be very effective and very cheap as compared to Sedona. Ten or twelve bucks versus hundreds.

My recommendation is Centerpointe, Focusing, and a peppering of paraliminals.

Cheers, Harry

Someone had asked earlier if anyone had achieved tremendous results from the centerpointe program. I have to say 'Yes'...emphatically, Yes!

My creativity has gone up a hundredfold. I am now inspired to be a fiction writer largely because of holosync. It has also forced me to really face my belief system and my internal motivation for the dysfunction in my life.

I am a zen buddhist, and I had been doing zazen meditation for about four years before I tried Holosync. I use holosync now because it is much like zazen meditation except that it requires less effort, puts me in a deeper state for longer, and greatly accelerates the integration of buddhist concepts. It's far, far faster than traditional meditation as far as results go...of course, that means that the resistance is a little greater too...however, I think it's worth it. If you are truly interested in the spiritual path, Holosync is a valuable tool, IHMO.

Chet.
