A sheriff here in the Twin Cities told me of a lady who installed bright flood lights throughout her yard. They kept aliens away from beaming radiation into her home.
The neighbors complained and tried everything to convince her to turn out the lights.
The sheriff came back to her a couple of weeks later saying that he discoverd that the radiation cannot penetrate rubberback carpeting. He suggested she install it in her attic.
Two days later the lights went out.
