Has anyone here used any of the products from the Institute of Advanced Thinking (i.e. Instant memory)?

I just found this site and I'm thinking about buying the book but it seems to good to be true.

Wouldn't you know it. This sounds just like "Photoreading", at least that's what I can decipher from it, since they reveal very little on how it actually works.

People always write and call me about other programs, but no one has ever talked about the Institute for Advanced Thinking or any of their programs. I know they have been around for a number of years, but that's it.

If you buy the book, give us a report on it.

In any event, our new Memory Optimizer should be ready the second week of September. I just received the studio master of Paul Scheele's new Paraliminal Tape called Memory Optimizer that will go with this self-study course.

The tape will probably have little benefit for people who do not do the full course, because it relies, in part, on the processes that Paul and Vera F. Birkenbihl use in the program.

I just got my copy of Instant memeory yesterday --I was shocked at how fast it was delivered!
The basic postulate of the book seems to state that memory can neither be trained nor improved upon, but merely 'released'. It states that, by nature, the unconscious mind is a perpetual recording device, a 24/7 tape recorder, naturally storing EVERYTHING photographically. It gives a method of releasing memories where one enters a state of relaxation (the "master relaxation technique") then gives comand to the unconscious to instantly and photographically release any desired memory.
I don't know that much about NLP but the comands seem to be based along those lines.
The book says to speak to the unconscious in the second person rather than the first, not to use negative comands etc. etc..

The fundamental concepts seem, to me at least, cogent. It appears some what simplistic but then again the simplist answers are usually the right ones.

Pete, does the Memory Optimizer course do anything along those lines; releasing the minds innate ability to remember?
If it does I'll be the first to buy it 'cause this instant memory book, though promising and logical in my mind, smacks of tedium and rather frightens me.

I'll give it a try and post any succeses.

buy! (heh heh)

You can train yourself in the use of your memory.

You can do things that will improve your access to memories.

Our course is about optimizing your use of your memory.

Will it release locked memories? Maybe, maybe not. Will it release all of your memories? No. The way we understand memory to work, we don't think that is possible. Will it release blocks that keep you from better use of your memory? Absolutely.

With our course you will begin to understand the limits of your memory, which will boost your overall ability to use your memory.

Smiley Bob, how'd it go with the book from advanced thinking? It seemed interesting, but the reviews on amazon.com are mixed. What'd you find to be the case? Thanks

John

Jschatz,

the book has some interesting points and seems plausible, but I havn't been able to use any of the techniques. I just don't have the patience to consistently practice what it sugests. Its all pretty much just "relax and comand your subconsious to remember".
I could see the methods lending to greatter memory usage for those capable, but for me the book was a waste of money.
I think they have a money back guarantee so you probably wont lose anything if you decide to try it, but don't be suprised if you aren't satisfied.
If you get it post the results.
