Serpentaura,
it is with great pleasure that I reply to your stirring situation.
I am very impressed by your most acute sense of perception. It is only a select few that can truly recognize and reveal their personal feelings.
Girls, girls, girls...
what is my goal of this post?
The goal is really two-fold. One, I would like to give some insights to the idea of of life and its ever-present agent - the human.
And two, I would like to impress some notions that deal with how we should react to the need to possess something that is not "ours".
Of course, in the end I hope that some of these explicated concepts will trigger your own brain to realize your tremendously unique and thereby powerful existence....
To my first point:
Human nature is complex and eye-dazzlingly dynamic. As such it is difficult to dissect the transformative nature and requires one to pay attention not only to the details, but also to the whole. What did I just say? Read the last sentence again.
This in itself offers a very interesting corollary. Namely, as Aristotle would describe it, that the essence of an element needs to be reversed to its original (i.e. from species to origin) in order for us to better understand it. This might seem as a paradox to some, as it is often argued -"understand the details and you will understand the whole". I am going to argue that the converse is true and that for us to grasp our existence and our motivations (which may in part be explanatory to the obsessiveness of humans) we need to recognize the whole. No, I am not preaching or pretending to know the meaning of life, nor am I claiming to know how to solve all problems. I am, however, contending that by the very nature of our myopic attempts to control and assess our individual relationships, we short-circuit our capacity to enhance and explore our existence. Instead, we should realize that, just as the wave is part of the ocean, the ocean is that which gives context to land, to air, and other things.
Let me put this in more practical terms for you. By realizing that human nature requires us to view the interdependence among agents as a natural extension, we give a framework to our relationships with others. This in turn explains our need to interact, either consciously or unconsciously. Even physics elucidates this to us. We are in essence light. Yes, believe it or not, we are all simply a form of light. And as such it is intrinsic that we are part of another human being. Sounds funny, but it is true that we are atomic fragments of light. I believe scientists have called this idea interdependent subtotalities, whereby we are truly a "whole". I know, I know, you might think what does that have to do with me and the girl that I wrote about. But here is the point. The point is that we are part of nature and nature is directing us in ways sometimes indiscribable.
So that when we think we want to "be" with another person we in some way always are, but much more importantly, even if we are not, we should be aware that another person is directed by "nature" to make what we experience a natural progression as well. So therefore, never be overly upset if occurances don't seem to go your way, or people don't like you, but realize that nature is directing you to those that will truly be your equal and those that will make you find pleasure in every moment of your reality. Why, because they are directed by you. In some way, I was directed by you, to transmit these thoughts - whether you think they help you or not, I truly hope they do. If nothing else, a neuralogical network was build to help you look at other possibilities.
To my second point, the need to posess becomes somewhat less important as soon as we realize that we already possess "everything". This sounds far-fetched and probably silly at best, but the point i am trying to make is that we *are* everything and our "reality" could not exist without our existence. Sure it could exist, but it would only mean something in relation to ourselves. So therefore, our possessive, sometimes even obsessive, nature seems to adumbrate the clarity experienced after the storm. For if we see that to have is to be, we miss that we do not need to hold to be cognizant of our nature as described above.
This was more or less very abstract and not oriented to give you "tools" to deal with any particular person, but much more so, I wrote this to give you some sense of who you are and why the person you desire is not the person that is necessary for you to "have". More importantly, with insights as you have described about your own being and the amazing power that you have (which I sense through your writing), I am very much convinced that you will find a person with whom you do not need to play catch-up or prove your amazing being. You are powerful, believe me. More so than we can ever imagine.

I would like to hear what you think and anyone else for that matter. Perhaps I was able to trigger some new thoughts and someone has had similar insights or feelings on this topic.
I impatiently look forward to reading everyone's post and perhaps I will share another personal revelation about how to amazingly influence people's desire to interact with you....
