NATURAL BRILLIANCE ROCKS. Oh and I agree with Smartfish on the PhotoReading thing. Take that flashing thought process and gently guide it in a new direction and man you'll be FLYING. And yes these "thought things" can be more prevalent in intelligent individuals. Good luck with anything you do man.

hey tool! thats cool ur a drummer....

heartbeat - i am happy for ya!
shanexedge- its awesome that u are doing great and i love and admire ur insight. I just felt it had to be brought to light that this is medical, ( i suffer from it), and when u read those books u dont feel alone. its good to have an open mind. I dont agree with everything they say but they let me know that i am not alone.

i totally agree with you- the bull**** of paying for pills and what not and the greed and arrogance of "professionals", but its trying to find a happy medium i guess.

i wish u the best (everyone)

shanex - u could make a website or write a book!

Don't buy into what other people say or even me, find your truth. What do you have to lose?

- good words

thats what it seems like u have to do with this "condition" and all aspects of life.
(just need ideas and support)

- You've got a Dodge Viper up there in your skull.- o thats me!lol. nice analogy.

Thanks smartfish. I just think that even more of a condition of mind rather than a "condition". Instead of giving it a name and worshipping it you could instead focus on something and remember that energy follows intent. We're all energy at the subatomic level and our consciousness is who we are and has choice not a predetermined fate.
Try to go with the flow of life, allow it to happen. Try Natural Brilliance and sedona method smartfish, I think you'll be suprised.

thanks man!!!!

i really appreciate all the advice. Its just it feels so real the feelings, and everyones sensitivity levels are different...

its confusing cause you dont know which mental exercises to do and what habituation techniques to follow. i am just very angry because ive wasted so much time with this crap ( i ll be 24 in june) and i am not even sure where to start with it.

One thing i did notice is, that when u start facing the fears and what not, there is this abundunt hyperness and elation adn that may in deed be the main problem, i am not sure. its hard knowing where to start.

theres also this guilt u have thinking you brought this upon urself. (maybe if the solutions seem trivial the problems arent? )

i will look into the methods!!!
thanks
peace and kindess!

ShaneX,

Lots of good stuff there.

There have been times in my life when I too have suffered from "intrusive thoughts," and I think you are right on the money. One of the best feelings comes from when you really consider the thought ... "You mean I can USE this stuff to my advantage?"

A lot of these intrusive thoughts are really just superpowered thought ... just going in a direction that is very unpleasant to experience.

I'm reminded here of Nikola Tesla and the story about his childhood. When he was a kid he had these very powerful thoughts that were as real as what was around him. Instead of trying to negate them or rationalize them away (ie- "They are just thoughts ..." words which would serve to make the clear thoughts vague or what have you), he started exploring aspects of them. I remember reading about a time he remembered a corpse from a funeral. Instead of blocking the whole thing out, he looked around the room for something more pleasing to look at in this mental experience and noticed some flowers ... this mental activity is probably the foundation of his amazing imagination, and I think it's something we're all born with.

Tool, I wish you luck. I know it sucks to have these things happen to you. But, I really think there is something to the statement that this is not necessarily something to get rid of, but something to work with.

I don't know about the finding out why thing too much. It might prove useful ... but who knows how and why some things get wired? Sometimes mental events are not the result of something willed or intended on some level as occurs as a result of conscious thought.

I think the fixation with "why" comes from a conception that on every level of mind the functioning is essentially the same as the conscious mind. That is, my conscious mind acts in this fashion, so the other parts must too. This isn't necessarily the case. Some things are not intended as such, but just get wired together.

We can reason out the "why" of things a lot, but this is the activity of the conscious mind making information palatable to itself. It is not necessarily an accurate description of the mechanics at work behind certain mental and/or physiological phenomena.

i just wanted to verify that with ocd or whatever u want to call it, isnt just seeing horrifying images, theres so many different forms....and everyone's sensitivity levels and brain chemicals experiencing the disorder, condition, is different.

its not gonna be an easy thing to overcome,
but i guess according to shaneXedge, its a matter of perception? which is awesome, but u still need to be real with it

-stay strong everyone!
