The proteus has audiostrobe. Using this feature with a voice tape works but you need to have the tape playing relatively loudly and turn the volume down on the proteus. Some CDs are produced play the audiostrobe. CD players unfortunately do not have a high enough output for ordinary CDs to kick in the light effect without audiostrobe. I have managed to get it to work with a couple of audio tapes also. Mainly its the resonance of Paul's voice that kicks the lights. Left ear one colour right ear the other colour.
