Hard to say if it's self-fulfilling prophecy or not, but my mother named me after Kabalarian principles. I would say that I am fairly close to the personality that my name is supposed to create.
Leaving numerology behind, some names SELL where others do not. One of my friends is the author Tani Jantsang. Her name just doesn't sell books the way other names do, so she goes by T & P Marsh. (P Marsh is her co-author).
