"Integral" means comprehensive, inclusive, balanced, not leaving anything out.

Strange as it sounds, most human activities are not integral葉hey are instead partial, often fragmented, frequently broken. Although integral approaches do not have all the answers, they do attempt to ask more interesting questions, and perhaps even point in the direction of real solutions謡hether in work, play, education, international politics, relationships, life....

At this very time, there is something of an "integral revolution" occurring around the world, as all the old and partial approaches are being questioned, and new and more integral responses are being explored.

If you also want to pursue the more detailed aspects of integral approaches as they are now being pioneered, please see http://www.integralinstitute.org.

To me that sounds like the marketing ploy that advertisers use. It is taught over a period of time (never directly expressed)and in the end of the course a good advertising student will know to sell something, the formula is..."Make the consumer feel broken, inferiour and in dire straits because they need fixing, then sell them th solution." Naturally the advertising student is taught to be subtle about this. That's why carbonated soft drinks are usually presented in fun setting.

No one is ever really broken and we don't need fixing

From the dictionary "Integral" is an adjective meaning Essential or necessary for completeness; constituent
2.Possessing everything essential; entire
It like all words in language it only has the meaning we agree to give it.

To me it's not a case of humans being incomplete, there is nothing to take away and nothing needed to be added to make the person that is uniquely you, you definiately don't need fixing. It's just our judgement of ourselves and others and the indoctrination by the advertisers that make us feel broken and in need of fixing.

It's great to look for alternate ways to experience life... what balances and works one person in their lifestyle may never fit yours. So please do explore to discover new skills, ideas and experiences. Just remember you don't need to buy into the belief that you need fixing, because you ain't broken, you're simply having experiences that are uniquely yours.

Alex

Alex,
Read carefully before you respond or you will continue to sound immature.

"No one is ever really broken and we don't need fixing"

"most human activities" are not integral葉hey are instead partial, often fragmented, frequently broken.

"It's great to look for alternate ways to experience life... what balances and works one person in their lifestyle may never fit yours. It's great to begin to recognise multiple perspectives, but this attitude is not going to work in bringing long term changes to the world commons. Different situations require complex, flexible, and fluid solutions. Read the 5th discipline. or http://www.spiraldynamics.net

Jamal, based on your attitude and comments I get a sense that Spiral Dyanamics or Integral Institute is some kind of cult. I'm very leery of people who claim to all of the answers and buy into this idea that there is only one way.

But what's the POINT of a revolution...
... without general copulation?

Hmmm. Being supposedly self-contradictory is the equivalent of being immature?

The statements:

"No one is ever really broken and we don't need fixing"

"most human activities" are not integral葉hey are instead partial, often fragmented, frequently broken."

... are not contradictory. The first deals with the individual and the second deals with the activities in which the individual partakes. Different levels. Not very good argumentation here.

As a spokesperson for the approach you are espousing, you are failing miserably at being logically and emotionally persuasive.

Check out the site if you want or don't........I find it amusing that deconstructionists never have any solutions, they just tear down all they see into a slew of multiple perspectives so they can feel secure with their self-percieved high cognitive ability laced to the core with a high degree of narcissism.
